I was asked how I would glaze this wall flower I made in a previous video so here's a short video showing in fast forward how I glazed it using brush on glazes with a few things I was thinking about as I glazed.
I hope this is helpful and if you have any questions please just ask 😊

I enjoyed watching you make it, it's a beautiful flower, I did wonder how it would work out building onto the come shape but all became clear. Now I've watched the glaze process, Thank you for sharing its just beautiful

Wow. What a chore!! It’s soooo beautiful!! I don’t use soo and pour glazes but could this have been dipped or poured?

Yes, you absolutely could but, especially with dipping, I think you would find you still have to go in with a brush after to get the inside spaces that the glaze missed. I expect it would still be quicker though 😊

Not for this, no. I used brush on glazes for ceramics which I then fired in the kiln.

Love your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge. What sort of clay do you use? I bought some sculpting clay, but it is very moist and sticky. Thank you

Thanks ☺️ I use potterycrafts raku modelling clay which is a lightly grogged buff clay that I fire to stoneware. If the clay is too moist and sticky would it help if you let it dry a bit before using do you think? I often wedge up clay that's too wet to remove some of the moisture .

What is the product with a yellow cap it was hard to read because there was a fast show and then it was gone. And it doesn't look like it was in English? What type of glaze did you use for the pedals is that underglaze and did you piss fire first or is this leather hard bone dry? Thank you

Hi. I did bisque fire first, with such fine petals I wanted the added strength this gives to avoid breaking them. The main glaze was Spectrum Autumn Purple, a mid-fire glaze. The yellow lid glaze was Terra Color Eisblume FS6002 which is Ice Flower, a lovely mottled white glaze that I layered on the purple just around the edges to add some variation in colour. It was the fired to 1205C with a 15 min soak.

This is made in ceramic clay so I finished it with glaze and fired it in the kiln to 1200C
