Defending my solo sloop has been amazing. Against other crews, it's great for clearing the enemy off cannons/the wheel. (better with larger crews)

@@HitboTC I do not think it is a direct Buff perse. Some enemies have, what I would call, resistance against certain, or all kinds of attacks. Like Gold skeletons, who are very resistant against swords and slightly against bullets, and if you get em wet they take full bullet damage. Fire for example bypasses all kinds of resistance, except the 100% damage resistance shadow skelies have at night. That's why Fire is so strong against gold skelies and Skeleton Lords. The Trident seems to have the same ability. It bypasses all kinds of damage resistance. Thus it is great for PvE.

Great information, man! I suspected there was some kind of damage buff for the trident against npc enemies, and you just confirmed my suspicions. I also saw the video of you facing down the salty sea dog. Good on you for staying chill and not stooping to his level. The sea could do without these salty pirates with too much to prove, haha.

I did some maths and I found out that the trident does 228 damage on full charge shot on entities (based on Ashen Lord). That’s nearly 2.5x the damage of a cannonball. It takes 5 seconds to full charge, so in theory, it should only take about 3 minutes with non stop full charge shots. Edit: it times’ the full charge damage by 2.5, for pve compared to pvp

The Trident is probably one of the best things they added, imo. Ashen Lords are now a joke, and Fort Bosses are being ran over. Plus boarders are now at a disadvantage!
