I always felt like the islands and seas felt too empty. No sea turtles, no monkeys in the trees, the sea guls don't perch on your ship, and you don't see dolphins surfing on the wake of your ship. They could make the world of sot feel so alive. Hell add an island that is a giant turtle that goes below the waves and moves around the map, thst would be awesome

There are monkeys in the Return to Monkey Island Tall Tale, and there is an Inu dog sitting on an uncharted island. I think we might be pleasantly surprised. The game is 6 years old now, and I think they are just getting started. Season 14 seems to be a good example of how much they are expanding.

I personally feel like instead of a giant electric eel, a thunderbird would work instead. Huge vast wings and a screech that causes lightning to strike, it would swoop down and try to grab players off the ship and send them flying into the sea

So funny thing about the hole in the legends hideout; It *Was* originally meant for something, but not a boss fight. In the earliest concepts, Pirate Legends were meant to actually spawn in the Legends tavern and sail their ships through the waterfall to reach the actual Sea of Thieves- Something that obviously never came to pass, sure, but i digress.

@Planet_X_123 tell me with a straight face that the SoT kraken is a squid. The things head looks more like a bird than a sea creature. That's the reason why I want a giant squid monster. So we can actually have a more accurate kraken. A side note, krakens are also often depicted as octopus, too. But the origin of the kraken most likely comes from sightings of colossal/giant squid. Which is why I reckon a massive squid would be best.

I really want to see the crocodile from Peter Pan. A boss that has a ticking sound that gets louder and faster the closer it is and when it finds you, it can chase you in both water and on land. Now that would be an intense battle to be sure… and you get a unique grandfather clock as loot and sell it to the hunters call for a crocodile ship set or something!

Thats what me and my friends were discussing. Like when you step on a island it erupts, but it could be a counter to going near an island with a megalodon. Eg 2% chance of spawning normally but if a megalodon was chasing you and purposefully went near an island to lose it it would have a 5% chance of spawning.

John Green, a developer at rare, was hired because of a college project he did, where he built up a game from scratch in order to make a fan tall tale called "the hydrant's curse" featuring a giant sea serpent. The sea serpent cosmetics were added after he was hired, as well as the chest of fortune cosmetics referencing the hydrant

A phoenix living in the devils roar that comes out of a volcano. This is what the roar needs a whole new boss fight that only happens in one place, and if it is something we can summon as apposed to the random spawn that megs, krakens, and skelly ships are, it could be a really cool element of the game. Just imagine you need to collect three parts of a horn from three caves in the devils roar, then you bring them to a volcano somewhere around the middle of the roar and blow the horn. You hear rumbling and a giant bird bursts out of the volcano and the sea starts to boil. You would have to shoot it with a special kind of cannon ball (like we have in monkey island) like a water canon ball. And once we shoot it enough it will solidify into a rock that we pelt with normal canon balls until it breaks, giving some crazy loot item. For the record I came up with this idea from inspiration from the KEEL HAULED PODCAST (highly recommend) which talked about how it would be cool to have a phoenix in the roar. If you want to hear Captain Logun's ideas about it, its like episode 200ish I think.

How cool would it be to try and dodge some claw pincer attacks, to than hit those and eventually cut one off, than the second and at last you can finish it off.

Imagine there's an option in certain areas to dive down to the undersea lakes. Like the dives to locations, but instead there's is a deeper ocean that doesn't mix with the top. You could sail on top of this deep dark water while already deep underwater. Creatures could lurk all over, sharks and merfolk could invade from above. You could see a glowing light hanging from the deep dark and go touch it. If you're in the wrong spot at the wrong time, your ship is gone to the abyss and you are in a whale.

Imagine an update where you get a diving bell / diving suit to explore the sea floor... you could carry a chest with your most valuable items in your hands and walk on the ocean floor to an outpost to sell them without anyone seeing you, or go treasure hunting in underwater caves. there is so much potential down there, from beautiful reefs they could add to creepy pitch black kelp forests or the dark abyss with... giant beings... living there. i like to imagine walking on the sea floor and seeing swarms of jellyfish floating around, they could damage you or hinder your enemies to follow you. yes its probably difficult to add for technical reasons, but we NEED more life in the seas, and UNDER the sea isa world full of potential waiting to be explored!

I hate the roar not bc of the fire and earth tht rains down on you but bc of the tremors u can't run properly I hate tht more than anything about the roar when the earth jus shakes it throws it off for me if we could get away from the land and fight the dragon I wouldn't mind it at all but I'm not really into the dragon I think we be better off having ashen monsters instead like ashen kraken meg and take a few of these monsters from the list and let it rotate but have a ashen color and drop way better loot

I would see that the electric eel, sea serpent, and hydra were three versions of the same boss with differing difficulty. The Hydra is like medium due to the extra heads. The Electric Eel would be hard due to the power to control lightning, also I would have it spawn a storm on a ship it’s attacking. The basic sea serpent would have up to two variants: 1. Is just a regular sea serpent. 2. Would be similar to one of the stronger variants like megs different color and glowing (and bigger). I could also see a really tuff version of the battle where you would have to fight a “Storm Hydra” it would have one head wrap around the ship (like the serpent), still have multiple heads to attack the ship with, and cause a hurricane to spawn on the player ship it encounters. Basically a combination of all three.

The pirate ship in the pirate legends hideout was theorized to be the pirate legend special ship however the waterfall was supposed to be a special port pirate legend players were allowed to spawn into the main world, spawning from a random waterfall island in game (theoretically on that part since the game devs never implemented.)

Most of these would be really cool but i think itd need to be like a hunters call emissary update. Let u sail for them as an emissary and add missions that r the only way to spawn the bosses and have each boss drop a rare item to sell back to them. Could even work with like bait to spawn them, add new fish and give players maps where they need to fish to find them, maybe islands with a rare breed of chicken, snake or pig and once uve got all the ingredients for the bait u place it in a location on the final island and the boss spawns

Something I’d love to see is world events where 2 beast fight eachother let’s say sea serpent and kraken, and there are cosmetics attached to it think hunting megs but you can actually help one defeat the other and the one you help you’ll get a cosmetic item of, similar to megs even if you put one hit on it and it dies it counts and the other would flea after winning it can also give you loot as a world event reward

Birds are underused AF. Give me a Thunderbird boss hitting ship with lightning and generating storms that drops its feathers and skull. Feathers like disney stick mechanics only you zap instead of bubble, skull as loot. Firebird/Pheonix same idea. Tortoise, can only be cracked with explosives but shell doubles as melee resistance item and another meat type. Spider Crab on ocean floor it harpoons players close to it. Jellyfish applying poison effects on touch and dropping tentacles that apply poison on melee. Piranhas in the sweetwater basins that can be distracted by raw meat. Giant spiders self explenatory and touched in video. From more mystic side. Will o wisp, looks like lure dart that moves and spawns ghosts instead of skeletons.

If they had these instead of the numerous Megs, I would have been very satisfied. The multi-eyed megs don’t feel very pirate related, and logically, there wouldn’t be that many of them. One, if any at all, because they would be competing with each other for food. Then considering the Kraken, there really should be no more than one Meg for the whole map because it would be competing with it for food. What they should have done was have a different and unique monster per zone instead of a reskinned Meg. It just feels lazy the way they went about it.
