Tried Buying Hornby TT:120 HST Train Pack. It went HORRIBLY WRONG!

I decided to take the plunge and get into Hornby TT:120. I've seen to many people singing its praises and saying its the best thing ever. So, I decided to give it a go. I'm a totally new to this scale, and DCC digital control too! So, here's what I did to buy my very first Hornby TT:120 set up.
BUT, it went horribly wrong at the end! Let me show you in this video what happened.

I am a bit of a cynic here…. I reckon the only reason Hornby are pushing TT scale is that they believe they can make more profit from it than from OO scale…. Much less competition so they can control the profit margins better….

​​@@LocomotionMotion Its the wrong scale for british TT. It should be 3mm to the foot, or 1/100. Hornby's TT is the european 1/120, this is something that could have been avoided had Hornby listened to modellers and the 3mm society. Had the models been released in 1/100 scale the sales would have been far greater than with their 1/120.

Its a re-issued video but its still a valid TT120 start-up flaw bieng raised. Had my Dad brought me the original OO Gauge Inter City 125 from 1978,which came with one coach he would have said "think about adding extra coaches next year,maybe when the price of single coaches has come down a bit" but my Dad wasnt really aware of the second hand market in OO. All these years later,all i have to do if i want to start again is insist my Dad gives me the Flying Scotsman set that i brought for him ten years ago which he never played with,which comes with 3 LNER coaches.Those exact same coaches i can pick up 3 for £20 at Chesterfield Market Place. So there we go,for maybe £150 i have a 6 coach Flying Scotsman in OO gauge. Add my Lima Class 50 Eagle from the 1980s,look at You Tube channels like this,or Sam's Trains which give hands tips for maintenance and repair,buy some Inter City rolling stock from the same man on the market,and hey presto thats two running passenger trains. Dad's GWR Pannier Tank is still in good condition since he never played with that either,so lets have a look for goods wagons on the market at £2.50 a pop. Where is the second hand market for TT120? Has it filtered through to the model railway exhibitions yet? I looked at going to Harlequins v Newcastle Falcons and was flabbergasted the ticket online appeared to be showing £56. Im not paying that! I can afford it,that's not the point,it's an entertainment but i wont pay that much for an 80 minute game of Rugby. TT120 has the same issue for me.

You can buy a piko smartcontrol set with 2 trains in HO for less rhan that. New.

My local retailer asked me if I wanted to dabble it TT-120, even said he is willing to give be a really good deal on his currently stocked items. I had a look at the HST and was impressed with the paint job. If I took the complete HST set with an A4 with coaches, enough track for a double oval and sidings he would knock off 60% because it’s not selling.. Lol, no thanks I said and brought an Heljan O gauge loco. 😂😂😂😂
