Sir...sharing my lil knowledge.. 1)Mangalore buns are made with a dough of maida & ripe bananas 2) The river you crossed is Hemavathi river 3) The red chutney is a common addition in Masala Dose in most parts of karnataka, which is a paste of garlic and red chillies. Glad you tried Mangalorean Buns. It’s generally made with Ripened banana. Mangalore has some very unique tasty snacks. If you are in Mangalore do pick up a packet of “”Sonteh”. It’s a crispy snack made from sweet potato sticks. 😊. You get it in Bombay at some Mangalore shops. “Sanaa” is another unique type of idli made with Toddy. It’s great with Chicken or non veg curry. But in recent years it’s sadly done mostly with yeast and has lost its original flavor.
