Producers have to understand that remakes of such popular films will not work at this point of time, Drishyam 2 worked because hindi dubbed version of original malayalam sequel was not available. Great movies like Shahid's Jersey and average good remakes like Vikram Vedha faced the same. Their hindi dubbed versions were available for so long for free, hindi audiences already had watched originals. We all know, Sarfira is going to follow the same 'vikram vedha syndrome'.

Radhika madan is one of the actress who really radiates that youth energy and can do college girl romances and pairing her with Akshay who is close to age of Irfan Sir who has played her father just few years ago. Also why it is remade is biggest Mystery, if any movie is available in Hindi audience has already seen them. Thing with Drishyam and Shaitaan is that og movies were not dubbed and didn't reached wider audience from the regional cinema. All other remakes have been bombed no matter how good they are. Time for remakes has gone no movie works no matter how good it is. Jersey, Vikram Vedha were earnest but no one care if you have watched og. Just stop remakes when hindi dubbed is available he'll even lot of people watch with subs if movie is good.

I read Piyush Pandey's autobiography a while back, called "Pandemonium". He talks about the approach of Aamir Khan & Amitabh Bachchan, with respect to even ads, how invested they were, how a shift didn't matter etc. I've grown up as an AK fan but now, I really have little interest. I think people have consumed top tier content and are doing so. So now, to provide the same level of satisfaction and bring the audience in the theatre is twice/thrice as hard. The same recipe and preparation may not work. It's a combination of picking good scripts, working with better Producers and Directors etc. for AK. He needs to stop creating spots for actors that he likes; Sonakshi, Rakul etc. The movie "Kill" for instance, would hit another orbit if it had AK. People probably would love to see him in that role.

Mazha peyyunnu madhalam kottunnu Chithram Dhim thatikida thom Vandhanam These are my first pass but there are many that are timeless classics that can be easily remade for current gen. Keep in mind that these are 80s movies mostly, if you watch them. I would be curious to know what you think of these movies if you ever watch them.

Audiences watched films out of boredom at that point with expensive internet & no content at disposal. Things changed after the pandemic when ott subscriptions became dirt cheap, with affordable high-speed internet and super affordable ultra HD TV screens that have better resolutions than the theater screen. People don't go to cinema anymore unless there is something exceptional to make them excited. My tv has better resolution than movie hall with access to thousands of movies & TV series at my disposal, why would I go to movie theater that will cost me total of 700 per person minimum overall

Akshay Kumar has always done multiple films every year since the beginning of his career. And between 2015-2019, most of the films he was doing were actually really good, like Baby, Rustom, Jolly LLB 2, Toilet, Padman, Gold, Kesari & Good Newzz. But nowadays, his films are just not that good, and due to availability of Hindi dub, remakes are not working (releasing Sarfira in theatres was a bad decision).

Not really even if it was an original film. It may have turned out to be the same debacle as Maidaan which was excellent or Chandu Champion which was not bad either. It is so uncertain to predict the mood of the audience.

Actually many directors have pointed out one thing about surya. He has a very sharp eyes which can emote. In this movie this clearly world. Holding up the tears with red eyes in many scenes made me cry. I think not many actor can pull out this that easily.

I still rewatch bhool bhulaiya, hera pheri, welcome, de dana dan etc. Even While i am writing these i get thay nostalgic feel. I cant believe this is the akshay kumar i saw in those movies. He was PHENOMENAL in 90s,00s,10s. For me his and ajay devgan's movies were the most enjoyable compared to ANY star. His choices and comedic timing cannot be matched. I hope he sees what i saw in him and start ACTING again. I am waiting for a bhool bhulaiya till now.

Soorarai Pottru was a story from a village. It was the desire to make the villagers fly that made the hero establish his own airlines. That sort of feeling is missing in much of North india I would say. Setting this movie in Uttarakhand or Bihar would have been much a better idea and would have offered an amazingly new array of challenges that would be missing in original where the runway was made on a flat terrain anyway.

One of my favorite things in SP was the romantic connection and chemistry between the two leads. It literally made me blush with them just having eye contact. One of the main reasons told by Sudha is that this is a story for India's masses and one that needs to be celebrated in theatres. Yes it came during pandemic in OTT and we all saw it. Sudha wants the people who haven't seen the original to come, see and experience this Incredible true story. Yes absolutely right that we can't replace surya and aparna but in all honesty emotions hit me right. I was crying in the villagers telephone scene and the climax. Radhikka performed well but for reason felt kangna could have been a better fit. Akshay did his job to sincerity but since surya is so much registered nedumaraan rajangam over vir mhatre. Also as rightly said it feels so sad to see people neglecting Sarfira in theatres. The very reason for which the movie was made is lost now. Also liked mandar and sarathkumar's character. Regarding the random dance numbers,not everything needs to be same right,sincerely didn't find any complaint or issue with that. Watch and support Sarfira.

Solution for Akshay is very simple take a break for at least one year or max 2 years and return to the big screen in a Negative role opposite a young generation actor playing protagonist.Back then when he did Ajnabee movie playing negative role opposite Bobby Deol he overshadowed bobby who played protagonist in the film and also won awards for that role

For me, Akshay kinda carried this film. I had watched Suriya's version before and he came up with a very good performance. I went to this film because my friends insisted and I think Akshay completely justified Suriya's role. It may not be better than Suriya's( which I am not sure) but he wasn't terrible like you are claiming. But the movie editing wasn't upto mark. I don't understand how the same director missed it this time.
