Then koi mil gya, which was pretty significant departure from what he did in past.he also did Multi starrer movie in form of KKKG.Played a very good role in Lakshay, swanky thief in dhoom. I think people are being too critical of Hrithik Roshan for no reason. Yes, as fans we want a new release every year or more than that but lets face it thats not possible with any huge star today apart from akshay kumar or ajay devgn who (if they can be called huge stars) are in the money making race. Hrithik on the other hand is in no such race, neither does he want to be the no.1 star nor make the most money (richest actor), cause if that was the case he would have been doing 2-3 mediocre movies a year. Has he challenged himself as an actor recently? Maybe not as much as earlier but he did experimental unconventional roles in Kaabil and Super 30 and both those films did really well critically and commercially. To be honest I haven't seen a bad or below avg performance from Hrithik as an actor apart from Mohenjodaro in the last 10 years. Yes, his films might not have been blockbusters but most of them have made money. He as an actor only wants to do roles which he is really passionate about and it shows. He will only be working on 1 film at a time. And lets face it, some of his movies have been mounted on huge scale and it takes time to make and release them. It is not only in his hands but director and producer of those movies. Films like War, Fighter, War 2 are hugely mounted movies which takes minimum 2 years for completion and release. So we have to be patient about them. And all these years at the back of his mind he has been trying to crack the next installment for Krrish. I am sure behind the scenes a lot of work has already gone into it. Lets hope the film becomes a reality and am really excited with what Ayan Mukherjee has in store with War 2. The teaser at the end of last YRF Spy universe movie was really promising !!

It's high time bollywood starts investing heavily in good writers and original scripts and back them. Risky subjects and stories will work if it's actually written and directed well. Instead of putting aside the majority budget for the actor's fees, the producers must be willing to pay writers well, while also encouraging and grooming a new crop of writers in the industry instead of sticking to the same old ghisa pita writers who have become creatively obsolete.

If everyone knew how to make a hit movie why would there be a flop movie? If every 40cr movie made 80cr every director would only make 40cr movies. India produces around 2000 movies every year, and only a few like 30-40 becomes a hit and remaining 1960 movies flops . 400cr movie have a higher chance of success than 10 lower budget 40cr movie. Additionally higher budget movies pushes boundaries for example Ramayan is going to be made with a budget of 1000cr, the quality of the movie would most likely be something worth comparing with international movies, whereas Ramayan made on a 40cr budget would most likely have CGI made by Microsoft Powerpoint

I myself cannot remember one film that I watched last year on big screen which was Story driven without any influence of big names. PS: One thing that I feel is missing from today's movies are good song albums; and films being remembered coz of it. Like how Gajini, Ranjhanaa, Rockstar or Aashiqui 2 have banger albums. Movies are either based on hype, nostalgia bait, mediocre franchises or high budget cookie cuter masala films. It’s so bad that our music is also Insta suitable quick attention grabbing songs. It was not only different in story but also in style and considering the fact that it was an era where glamour had begun overshadowing story, Lagaan was nothing short of a lucky gamble. No offence to K3G but 2001 had many gems like Zubeida, Chandni bar, Asoka and Lajja - all Indians lost to glamour and masala.

red letter media had done a video on the same thing and the fact that movie budgets have ballooned so much means there's huge pressure for hits hence studios don't want to risk smaller movies. movie theaters are too expensive and the viewing experience isn't always the best. recently went for a movie, the people in front of us were constantly yapping, the lady next to me was scrolling insta and the snacks were exorbitantly priced. add to this, the screen seemed dull and lackluster compared to my large tv at home. if you have a good entertainment system at home it makes absolutely no sense to go to the theater

For a video idea, it would be really interesting to explore what happens to actors who go through intense body transformations for roles that end up getting shelved. Do they still get paid for their work, or does it vary depending on the circumstances? It’d also be great to know what happens to the rest of the team working on the project, like the directors, producers, and crew. Do they still get compensated, or is it all up in the air when a project is cancelled? A good example would be Gurmeet Choudhary’s transformation for Maharana, which never made it to the screen. It’d be fascinating to learn how situations like that play out!

Jammy! There's one common thing in all these movies you've mentioned, the MUSIC 🎵 we all millennials cherished as much as our parents did. However the music is mostly forgettable today and any story whatsoever lacks conviction. If director has to push a five minutes trailer on our face to convince us to be in the theatres, then its really sad.

A very thoughtful video , Even though there is a financial angle I believe that movies should concentrate on the story and the art of bringing it to reality , sometimes it may not attract a large audience but this year there very unique projects like Thug life , kantaara , war 2 , badass ravikumar [coping but hopeful] etc. Some may be box office hits , some may fail and after careful consideration , i have decided to not watch any of these because i am broke

You gotta appreciate YRF as a production company. They have backed many projects that became visionary and got cult status later on I personally believe Adi is the most open minded and visionary Hindi producer. Nowadays web shows are very popular trend. But many don’t remember that it was YRF that started the revolution with shows like Kismaat, Power and Khotey Sikkey. Also Adi backed many projects of Kabir khan, Dibakar Banjeerje, Jaideep Sahni knowing that he might not get a profit from those movies. To create something new and unique, you need a visionary producer. Adi is one often. Aamir and John abraham deserve huge credit. Shahrukh also has been visionary for backing a project like Ashoka in 2001. Huge props to Salman for backing a project like Chillar party when every producers turned vikas behl down. Also Ekta Kapoor deserves a huge credit for projects like LSD

Being afraid of taking risks at some level is human nature, but to completely reject the idea of taking risks is bad for business in the long term. It reminds me of Anurag Kashyap's interview where he says that films nowadays are made by people who have grown in trial rooms, so something that's not on their screen cannot be cinema to them. But i genuinely hope that this attitude changes in coming years, or else hindi cinema will lose its audience.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha - that movie was brilliant. Their kiss at the end was HOT! Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani - movie was meh for me but that OST. All the songs are still good!! Koi Mil Gaya - Still a classic..amazing OST too. There are many more that i really liked recently. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui - was about falling for a transgender. Sadly the did not use a real transgender but it was still well done. Bell Bottom - just great movie about plane hijacking. I also loved Shaitaan - but i heard the original is even more creepy. Sooryavanshi - Great movie too with all the cameos. I don;t think Bollywood is dead perse, but it's only a handfull of movies that are really worth watching these days.

Both my grandparents are no longer with us, but one of the memories I have, comprises of watching this movie with them and urging our parents to let us stay back with them for a night so that we, siblings can watch it with them.

Can you make a video on Parineeti Chopra? When she was introduced she became a sort of rival to Alia Bhatt but now we rarely get to see her nowadays. She still works with great filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali, Dibakar Banerjee but still she is nowhere close to Alia Bhatt as she once was.

@@sonic-b1n Blame it all on KJo- He is the most convenient choice! Parineeti has said in countless interviews that she herself is to be blamed for her career graph as she consistently chose bad scripts! Rakesh Roshan presented his son in the best debut movie in the history of any star kid. Unfortunately the industry thought the magic was in the vehicle (Hrithik) and not the driver (Rakesh ji). Koi Mil Gaya was a rally race and Rakesh Roshan clearly showed the world he's a master and Hrithik realized what "baap" is and he became selective in a great way.
