The fault is with the host framing such questions which puts the actors in a place where they are bound to give an answer. And Ranveer Singh talking about nepotism is baseless cause his paternal grandmother (Chand Burke) was a yesteryear heroine who was known for her energetic screen presence and Ranveer Singh is the second maternal cousin of Sonam Kapoor. Using nepotism as an excuse to question the fairness of movie industry is becoming too cliche. Ranveer Singh has time and again stated about his struggles to earn a place in Bollywood. For once it would be great if he admits that he too has people in his family who belonged to the movie business. I am not denying that he did not had to face difficulties to be in the position he is now but for once can people also talk about the privileges they have rather than always cribbing about their struggles.

I was so excited for the KWK episode because from the Gully Boy promos you could tell Alia and Ranveer have great chemistry. They did have great chemistry in the episode no doubt, I still rewatch the episode just to hear them talk about their equation and Ranveer's mimicry, but it went so downhill from the quiz. At one point, it looked like Ranveer wanted to flip the table.

Honestly KWK ep 1 looked scripted but Ranveer just became cheeky and had sacrstic taunt that ohho nepo kids bias and it would have landed if joke would have taken but Alia just become self conscious and made it awkward. I guess that part was Ranveer going off script so Alia couldn't handle it. In many intereactions she seems taken back or gets caught like 'what do I do now'.

Yes the whole episode was entertaining. But it was still extremely hilarious, how Ranveer was so so uncomfortable with Alia- Karan bond at times (nepo- bias, how he termed it) But he,himself is a nepotism product. Maybe he's just upset that Karan in not his godfather. Also, as an audience I feel it was so wrong and awkward at the same time, "alia showing middle finger gestures to Ranveer on national television" As a public figure who has followers and fans in millions, has some unsaid yet understandable responsibilities to fulfill. You can't go around showing middle finger to anybody just like that to be cool or whatever. Not good. Not good. Also, earlier it was fun to watch KWK. Now it's just like some rich spoilt nepo kids reunion. Where the guests behave as it is their "real in-home couch" where they can utter any nonsense. And I know. One of my personal favourite roundtables, is the 100 Best Performances done by Film Companion that had South and Hindi film actors together. You can see the collective discomfort every time Parvathy voiced her strong opinions. Ranveer and Alia were constantly smirking and sniggering at her. Coming to your video, I think Ranveer was just helping KJo address the nepotism allegations with sarcasm and wit. More like shutting up Kangana and Co. I felt he was being sarcastic when Ranbir was being spoken about being a total traditionalist. That occasional 'Awww' and ' So Cute' was very like 'Cut the bullshit'.

Parvathy, sethupathy and manoj are real actors in that group and always spoke about their approach to their work. Ranveer seems to do only one type of role which ott and melodramatic. A good actor is only due to his films not that he has to "act" to compensate for a an average overrated movie which most of his movies are. Deepika of course is a an OK actress and alia is overrated as hell. Whenever an artist who actually knows their work and is informed will be looked at as weird.
