Michael Jackson the gratest performer ever. The first performer that made from his songs mini movies...and he has so much rewards, also the purest soul. He wanted to heal the world. He could stand on stage 2, 3 hours and sing live and dance like no other...The whole world loved him. R.i.p king 😢😢🥰🥰🇷🇴🇷🇴👍

Actually this short film is just a part of a full move called Moonwolker. The movie includes like 4/5 short films. MJ always said that he learned all his dance moves from the kids. That's why one of the kids start to dance saying that he showed everything. If you take a look at this video, everyone can't hurt Mike because he hypnotizes everyone with his dance, that is another point to what he felt about people all time. People get crazy when he dance, sing, etc. The middle part, where everyone get like "zombies" show you how creative it was, those piece of stuff are more common when acting, on theaters. Again, love your reaction! Cheers
@Milkers7773 жыл бұрын
MJ pioneered Music Videos as a matter of fact he didn’t even like calling them “Music Videos” he called them Short Films cause that’s what he truly made Music Videos usually was only just mostly Music Artists performing/singing on a stage but MJ changed that during his Off The Wall Era 1979 it started with Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough And then he took it up another notch with Billie Jean,Beat It & then Thriller etc.🙇🏽♂️👑💯

As an ex-preprofessional dancer, the best way for me to explain the portion of the video where things get dark and Michael and the dancers start moving slowly and shouting is to describe it as everyone feeding off of one another’s energy, mostly MJ’s, and just letting their body’s move however the body chooses to move or in a way that feels right for what Michael was going for during that slowed breakdown-ish section of the short film. Think of it like a “freestyle-Esque” moment but more intuitive physically to one another’s movements and energy. I can't remember precisely where this interview or conversation with Michael is, precisely, at least I think it is Michael explaining it, though it could be someone else involved, like in the Bad 25 documentary, for all I know lol, where he explains what he was going for during that portion of the short film, however, you guys, and believe me, are not the only ones who became confused during that portion of the short film lol. I think one would need to have some profound level of dance training and knowledge to immediately understand, without explanation, what Michael and the dancers were doing, lol. Think of it like Britney’s Instagram videos dancing, which is another thing that people, and not you guys, but people, in general, get confused and interpret them as something they aren't, but slow it down to the pace that these dancers and Michael, himself, were moving, and add in someone [Michael] giving a brief context clue as to what he wanted. Britney’s videos are not much different, as far as what she is doing, from this; she is just feeling the music and letting her body move in an interpretive way, which is what is happening here, just in a different sense. To answer your “question/speculation,” and not that you asked lol, as to whether MJ has a bunch of different types of styles and “genres” of songs-yes, a lot of Michael’s greatest work, outside of the popularly known songs, is sprinkled throughout his discography, for sure.
@goldencherry90333 жыл бұрын
There’s a clip in the Making of Smooth Criminal where he’s heard talking about bringing the energy down to build it back up, I think he described it as being like a mountain. I guess as a contrast to the high-level energy in the rest of the short film. Just to jar the audience and surprise them as you’d never expect a whole cast of dancers to just stop kid-routine and mid-song. Constantly that element of surprise that makes it art and not just a music video to promote a single.
@nymeria11603 жыл бұрын
Essentially "catching the spirit". Dancers and artists when they're completely overcome by the power and feeling of the art can sometimes be "possessed" by the energy, channeling and moving however the energy moves them to. I've always loved that blue scene because I could understand that feeling as a dancer, to be overcome by the spirit of dance is profound.

Since you miss the backstory: the choreography was a headnod to Fred Astaire and one of MJs favourite musicals, The Band Wagon. The choreorgaphy starts with an almost identical scene as in that musical - however MJs goes into a much tougher direction. Fred Astaire btw died during the shooting of this shortfilm, MJ never got to show it to him. Another headnod by MJ to Fred Astaire and The Band Wagon is Dangerous, to which MJ also has HUGE (thematically identical) choreography - the difference is MJ performed it ONLY live, it never had a music video. The lyrics of Dangerous is partly what Fred Astaire says before entering the club in The Band Wagon ("she was bad, she was dangerous"). MJ was highly influenced by that musical (and West Side Story - Beat it, Bad) and Fred Astaire (and Bob Fosse).
