Most cleaning products are just basic household ingredients like vinegar and baking soda or citric acid but repackaged and with perfume added. Salt water is a recommended treatment also btw.

Ginger 100% helps with upset stomach, it WILL prevent you from throwing up. Gravol makes a ginger version for nausea that works amazingly for my nausea. Also salt for mouth ulcers works wonders as well, 2 days of washing my mouth out and they're gone. I have Crohn's Disease so I have lots of experience with lots of shitty symptoms lol.

I agree hard with Pyrion’s observation of Lewis and Sips approach to cleaning products and it’s environmental impacts. Seemed like Lewis arguments for pouring bleach down the drain are the same as people who don’t want to eat differently to minimize the environmental impact.

@@Ramiell777 Ginger for settling the stomach. It does actually work and many people take it as a motion sickness remedy because motion sickness pills can make you very drowsy. Whether there's enough ginger in ginger ale for it to be effective is somewhat debatable but root ginger is demonstrably effective.

Agreed. Many "modern" medicines are extracts of natural products like herbs. What's more, there are certain times when your body can actually absorb the "good stuff" better from natural products vs man-made.

Hearing them talk about old medicine, some, SOME do work, and the ones that did are the basis of modern medicine, others were terrible, like drinking mercury, not a great idea, in fact, I'd say its a terrible idea, but we had no idea back then. But some things, herbal medicines, do work, and what modern medicine does it look at why these remedies work, and extracts those things, and condense them into pill form. Don't go bashing old medicine, there are still things there we need to look at and learn from and form a modern perspective of.
