Idk why curing the free edge on the form first made me 🤯. It seems so obvious now! That’s a really great tip!! That flooding underneath was so frustrating

I was about to say that the hack is genius then I backed up... how tf does it even work, if the gel has been cured on the TOP of the new gel that comes afterwards?? What??
@djkb1257 күн бұрын
@@novaexx6587 you’d have to do a thin layer or clear but it could work. If you’re working with a super dark/opaque color than you’d have more issues like you’re thinking. Honestly, even if you can build a super thin, weak free edge that would be good enough because you could always go on top with more to make it thicker and stronger. You’d rather have it thicker on top than below anyway
@sotoalexandra247 күн бұрын
@novaexx6587 I know exactly what you mean. The best way is to do a super thin layer along where the free edge would be, gently placing it on the nail and flash curing . Then curing all the way. THEN you apply gel to the dual form as usual so that the free edge part stays UNDER the new gel.

That thumb looks like it might be next.. you can see your sidewall bc there’s barely any product there. I don’t like thick sidewalls either but it looks barely covered or the builder gel was over-filed but I love how you fixed your nail building the free edge like that. Gonna try that 😊

You can use paper forms while you're applying dual forms to prevent contact with your skin but you still need a little bit of free edge

Why do people feel the need to try point out what you did wrong as if that has to be the reason. As if you ARENT a professional. The reason is because things happen! Her dominant hand and that means a lot of pressure was applied and sometimes the nails can’t handle it. Everything has a breaking point no matter how well nails are done. I know you’re a pro. It’s logical to think something out of your control happened then. I will say at least she DMd you instead of causing discourse in the comment section.
@AntisociaIsocial10 күн бұрын
Yes but at the same time you can minimise the possibility of it happening by correcting mistakes, therefore it's useful that people do point them out. She might be a professional but many of her viewers aren't and so those comments might be very informative even if you think they're upsetting on unnecessary. I, myself, find those 'hate comments' very educational.

Hello! Would it be possible to get a video on how to do a rubber base fill to accommodate new growth? I don’t want to have to soak off the rubber base each time if possible. Thanks !!
@ToastedCocoBun9 күн бұрын
You can just file down the rubber base on your nail so it’s thinner, prep your growth and reapply the rubber base on your entire nail again, rebalancing the apex to account for length. There’s a bunch of videos from other nail techs that’ll show you

can someone explain what she did to make a freeedge and why that helps against flooding? because my brain cant comprehend for some reason. i thought she made a free edge and put it on her nail and then did it like you usually do but that's not what the video shows... i think? can someone explain please. I appreciate

Do you reuse your dual forms? If so how many times can you reuse them? 😅
@EaglesFanMeg837 күн бұрын
Omg that free edge tip needs to go viral 🤩 I can’t tell you how many times I flash cure upside down and hope it stays soft enough to move - or else I’m drilling under the nail forever!
@filipasousa73509 күн бұрын
If that was a stress break, that is not wrong in itself. If you have an overlay over that free edge without adding more height to your apex you are making the free edge a lot hardier. But if you knock that off something it doesn't have the flexibility to bend so it will break away from whatever is attached.

I really don’t understand why anyone uses dual forms for application. They’re really easy to make mistakes with, flood the cuticle area, cause allergies etc. So much easier to spend time learning to apply gel directly to the nail.

I mean the person isn’t totally wrong though. Even though you do not use duel forms or fake nails you still need to build an apex with your rubber base to create a foundation so this doesn’t happen again.
