Thanks Zee. Missed this one. I understand your frustration and there seems to be a lot of identifying as something you're not these days 😂😂 It's a nice looking watch too! I do like it. The Seiko 5 watches have 100m and a push pull crown so it's probably alright. I have an SRPD51 and have used it snorkeling and swimming but no chance would I use it diving. Excellent and entertaining review as ever!

Thanks for the video. To me, its not a dive watch. Push pull crown, no dive bezel, not a dive style clasp. Dial does not say anything about being a dive watch. I look at it and nothing points to it being a dive watch. Looks like a funky GMT/Sport watch. Cheers!!!

Thanks for your honest opinions. For me, I like their originality. And enough people like them enough that they sell out of their watches all the time. I definitely like their Parking Meter better. And the fact that they named their dive watch, the “Parking Meter” tells me they don’t take themselves too seriously and have a sense of humor about it. Thanks again.

Their other watches were a hit, no doubt, but theres a fine line between originality and just flawed design right. I think people are trying to like this due to the previous watches, while that is to be considered a watch should still be treated as something individual. To be honest, even if nobody else had agreed with my review, my opinion would not have changed, and i expect people to want this type of fortitude from watch reviewers.

Thanks for the honest opinion and swimming against the current compared to other reviews. Less could have been so much more with this watch. Restraint, like they showed in the VBAO design, could have made this watch amazing. Like Alton said, it is great to have so many voices and so many choices in the watch world. It is one of the many things that makes this hobby phenomenal.

Hello Zee. I like VB watches in general, own several, and did end up pre-ordering this one. While I agree with much of your assessment, I look at it more from a sports watch perspective. The watch does pack lots of good specs for the price, especially at preorder. Not sure it will stay in my collection long term, but for now I'm mostly ok with it. Thank you for your review. If it was a sports watch, i would have credited the design minut the questionable yet subjective aesthetics, same if it was a gmt diver. Even aliexpress brands dont get it this wrong imo! When u get it in hand, let me know...

You certainly have a point. The garish blue, red, and pink colors, the terrible bezel action, the gawdy "VAN BANNER" inscribed into the side of the case, it's all quite clownish to me. As you say, there's a solid basis for a good watch here, but it goes astray very quickly.

I have the black version. The pip is red not pink. It matches the GMT and second hand. In person it's a great looking watch and is no more a diver than the Seiko 5 GMTs which also do not have screw down crowns and also only have 100 meters of water resistance. Unlike Seiko, Van Banner regulates the movements and mine is running to COSC Standards!

Did you ever see the Mancheront Pacer, which is a pulsometer watch with a Submariner style maxi case and oyster bracelet, a ratcheting pulsometer bezel, a power reserve indicator, and a butterfly clasp? This VB reminds me of that. Just an odd juxtaposition of specs and styles.

I don‘t mind a gmt with diver elements at all but the combination of blue and pink together with the ugly hand set and a dial that looks like plastic is way too much to put me off. Nor do I mind that premise, a gmt diver but it has to be that, this is very confused 😕 as I stated in the review, its a sports gmt that identifies as a diver but with 0 diver functionality. Its not like they were not able to add the screw down crown or clasp...perfect example of when something just goes too wrong.

For me, I'd make it a fixed bezel, thinner bezel and take the grip off the bezel and you'd have a nice watch

I like it, there's nothing like it out there. Afc its not perfect but you get so much for so little.. The Leah is nothing short of awesome imo. If you look at it as a gmt that has a good wr it isnt bad at all. You're looking at it as a diver with gmt complication. I think vb tried and succeeded of making a very different gmt than any other brand, unfortunately this design doesn't speak to everyone like som of their other designs. Im 99% sure its also a sapphire sandwich.

It could be a sapphire baguette but honestly the design is very very confused. Got nothing against VB and liked their previous stuff, those are original and different to the norm. This is different, differently where i didnt feel it was neither of what it was trying to be. Im hoping its a steep learning curve.

I am sure this will sell as a sports GMT . its not a diver . The colour mismatch is an eye sore . it lacks coherence and finesse. The dial is not easy to look at

It does look like they threw all the cool left over bits together. It’s not terrible, it’s just a touch incoherent. Why has it got a pink triangle? Bracelet is great but I hate butterfly clasps (it’s a gorilla thing)

Yeah I gave this one a miss... I have every other model from this company ,but one I don't need a GMT I can just about tell the time as it is... but the look doesn't appeal to me, it defiantly reminds me of some Vostok models

You definitely judged this one more harshly than I did. The Vanbanner branding comes with the territory and I've learned to accept it, even if I do not appreciate it. My biggest gripe is the bezel lume triangle. I wish it was black. The case and bracelet are easily their most refined and it wears very well.

Yeah, i mean we're all meant to be different, right? Each should have their own opinions. I felt their design language on one was neither here or there, and we judged aliex stuff with the same rules, and as a micro, they effed this one up. I'm hoping they they do better on their next one.

And your review was fair and acknowledged that this is in many ways subjective. Which is a good reminder because a lot of viewers forget that personal preference plays a role. Although the bezel action is objectively poor. 😉

Hmm, nice case, bracelet is nice... with the right tools one could always do a bit of modding and force an aliexpress dive clasp onto that instead of the butterfly. But the lack of screw down crown is tough to get past, and bezel action don't look too good

I preordered this watch but ended up selling it. I had the same experience with the bezel. It just didn't feel right and was inconsistent feeling. I think VanBanner tried too hard to be different on this one.

I don't like the design at all. The type of texture for the dial is off-putting. The neon pinkish-red is a tad gaudy - an eye sore. The markets, handset, and bracelet are all okay.
