where does the 2 in (2cosec^2x+5cosecX-3=0) come from and the three like im confused

Hi Mate, the equation says cot^2(x) + cosec^2(x) +5cosec(x)=2 From here we can remove the cot^2(x) by using cot^2(x)=cosec^2 -1 (minus 1 from both sides to get cot^2x on its own) We replace cot^2(x) with cosec^2 -1 . Now we have cosec^2 -1 +cosec^2 +5cosec(x)=2 Adding the 2 COSECS^2 together we get cosec^x + cosec^x = 2cosec^x (thats where the 2 comes from) Now we have 2cosec^2 +5cosec(x) -1 =2 Minus TWO from both sides to get equation to equal zero. (-1 -2 =-3) (thats where the -3 comes from) We now have a quadratic to solve: 2cosec^2 +5cosec(x) - 3=0 Hope this helps!
