Win Server by default typically runs the CPUs less hard / more efficiently for multicore processes, thereby causing the single thread apps to open slower. That can be changed in the power settings.

In case you were wondering, the main use for Windows Server is to function as an Active Directory (AD) domain controller. So in a company, user accounts are stored on a server rather than individual computers, which allows administrators to do things like reset passwords remotely, assign users to groups, and give them access to certain resources. This also means users can log into the same account on another computer (though AD doesn't store the user's documents on the server...at least not by default).

A few things to consider: 1. These laptops come with a ton of drivers that have to be installed manually on 2019 and it is possible you have some divergence there. 2. Windows 10 comes with memory compression and software prefetch which might not be enabled on 2019 by default 3. The battery/performance profile settings seems different between the two, hence performance it is better to be benchmarked on desktops where these things might be set the same by default. 4. Windows 10 disk space "rot" over time is much more serious than the one on 2019 which makes the latter alot better with disk space management...

Main difference is Windows Server supports more powerful hardware. Windows 10 Pro has a max limit of 2 TB of RAM, Windows Server allows for 24 TB. A desktop user is unlikely even to consider such a large amount of RAM, but servers can make good use of their greater RAM capacity Windows 10 has a limit on processors as well. The Windows 10 Home edition only supports one physical cpu, while Windows 10 Pro supports two. Server 2016 support upto 64 sockets.Similarly, a 32-bit copy of Windows 10 only supports 32 cores, and the 64-bit version support 256 cores, but Windows Server has no limit for cores.

Sometimes windows server will need a license that is called “site license” compared to “personal/home license”. And tbh, windows have come a long way that even personal use of windows 10 is good and stable enough that windows server’s extra stability and whatnot is not that necessary for most home/professional users, unless you legit run server grade software/hardware (e.g. ecc memory)

There is a couple of problems with your tests 1- its really improbable that both batteries have been used exactly the same throughout your laptopses lifes, therefore, its expected that one battery lasts longer than the other one, you should have tested with the same battery. 2- you can't test the wi-fi at the same time, wi-fi is a pretty messed up technology, its really hard to predict how its gonna perform, specially at the same time. Also there's the router firmware problem, its highly probable that your router just picked one of the laptops to give more priority for. Besides that, great video

2:10 that is because one may have more dust. this isnt a good test. 3:30 this is because you are using different servers per speed test, and you aren't using ethernet. also, speedtest has too many ads and can easily glitch some machines. 4:45 computer may be thermal throttling due to dust 5:15 because servers are not supposed to open apps fast, it needs to keep them open for longer though. also it looks like that one is charging while the other one isn't. charged laptops usually throttle, making the experience slower. 6:12 that is from internet speed. 7:01 because server admins usually need faster file transfer speeds 7:51 because windows server isnt for home use

This comparison is completly wrong. Windows Server is optimized for background tasks. -Change the priority in the system settings from background to foreground. -Change the energy policy from active to passive Then you will see windows server is much faster end more efficient as windows 10.

Windows server purpose is for server management And control of the servers
