Man, im running my 26.4 oz Primary Arms platinum 1-8x ACSS FFP scope in an ADM recon qd mount atop my 8 lb 6 oz DD5V1 giving me a 10 lb 7 oz package by the time i add my Magpul RVG, RSA and pic rail for my bipod. Make it 12 lbs even with a fully loaded Lancer L7 AWM 20-rd mag. Not a heavyweight as most AR-10s go but a chunk nonetheless. Its an awesome rig giving me lightening fast firepower from point blank range with pinpoint accuracy out to 800 yds and beyond. Its heavy, but it is absolutely devastatingly effective! But, i just mounted up a 10 oz Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5 - 4x by 20 mm scope with some cheap 1" rings i had on hand. Thanks to the little Leupolds excellent eye relief i mounted it well forward in a typical "scout scope" location and WOW! It actually works quite nicely! And it saves me about 20 oz over my PA platinum giving my DD5 an entirely new feel and capability. Now of course the little Leupold cant compare to my PA platinum 1-8x ACSS FFP scope for quality, capability, utility and versatility but it can certainly get the job done when im just plinking at 10 to 200 yds or so and want to run light. Im definetely going to experiment further with the scout scope concept with a small lightweight LPVO. Im on the lookout for a higher quality 1" tube 1-4x weighing under 10 to 12 oz. Perhaps your HK would benefit from the concept.

The Trijicon style crosshair with illuminated circle reticle is awesome! I bought the Accupower 1-4 last year for my 556 and that style of reticle was one of the main reasons why I chose the Trijicon over the others. "OMG your hands are black! You've ruined your life!" 😂 Love the videos! Keep 'em coming!👍

How do you like that setup? I'm editing my review of the same optic, but it's riding on my MR556. I think I'm going to go with an ATACR 1-8 on my MR762 but haven't decided just yet. Also that mount looks awesome. I usually run the Geissele setups, but I might give that one a go. I've got the SCALARWORKS lower 1/3 mount for my Comp M5 and I love it.

Have you noticed any of your Vortex scopes as having razor thin eye relief at max power? I have the 5-20 RazorHD gen1 and at 20x the eye relief is sooo thin I can almost never get a good sight picture.

Glad to see a review on this! Was interested in this scope (different reticle for 5.56 though). Huge purchase for me though and going to be my only nice scope probably, so the main reason I didnt go with it was because I read the illumination on it was lacking, and many said in bright light it got washed out. After going out shooting with an illuminated scope that I ended up going with, I never used the illumination 🙄.. tried it but actually preferred it not illuminated durning the day. At night obviously wouldnt be a problem so the main reason I didn't go with it ended up being a non issue. 😞

Thats the first time I have ever heard you say “bros”.... I am very uncomfortable. Lmfao Edit: we have identical taste in scopes apparently because I have the rs27c on my scar and the vudu 1-6 on my ar and fuckin love them both! Edit 2: Also, there is an issue with the rs27c’s turrets when doing the zero reset. It only lets you push the turret back down on every other hash mark which will make it off one click either way from 0 if your rifle happens to fall in that hash mark once zeroed but Trijicon is aware and has a workaround for it, which is easily found on the internet, or they can walk you through it if you call them. That said, I couldn’t get the workaround to work and am just living with the 0 one hash to the left.
