Brand new LT4 cost about 19k but by the time you add wiring and all other stuff, about 25k and to get it swapped another $$…If your big block is not giving you any problems just keep it

@@ygb7898I’m needing to rebuild the motor. Was going to go with a blue print 598 big block which is around 16k but I do like this ls swap idea

@@Thinbluecarguy oh wow brand new 598 big block actually cost more than LT4 and can produce straight raw power 700+. The advantage of LT4 is compact and about 200 pound lighter. You gotta understand tho if you have an old stock chassis, every time you go over 500 HP, you gotta reinforce your chassis otherwise it might end up bent. Also you gotta get a new Rear End such as Ford 9” to handle the power. I’ve been in the classic car game for so long and one advice I always give is, go frame off and start with your frame/chassis, clean up/fix rust and then build your way up. Take your time, do it once do it right. That’s what I did with mine. 🤞

@ thanks for this info. My car was a pro street drag car. Fully tubbed and 9 inch rear fully reinforced by previous owner. I’m not into the racing but more of a cars and coffee weekend toy.
