Lol, right!? Funny enough, V8's are in the most powerful tractor trucks in the world like Scania and Volvo, so going outside the scope of the U.S. and gas engines, the V8's future is even brighter. Also look at the PowerStroke's and Duramax's success, even against Cummins' very strong reputation for reliability. FCA knew what was coming, so I'm disappointed they waited so long to propel into the EV and hybrid world and therefore killed off the Hemi just to move their slider back to neutral territory; it should have long been selling eco cars to balance out the performance crowd that want and love their insane V8's.
@midnight347Ай бұрын
They should. We need to push for alternative fuels like Ethanol and hydrogen with the same gusto they've been forcing ev down everyone's throat. That is much better for the earth long term and best of all everyone's happy. The green people are happy and the hot rodders are happy it's a win win.

2018 Ram Hemi owner with 74K trouble-free miles. I already joined this thing before but after Stellantis killed off the Hemi, it's value and joy to me went up at least five-fold to me. Also hearing a lot of folks that are grabbing 23' and 24' Hemi Rams before they disappear off of dealer lots. Can't say I'm surprised. ;) Let's see, 3rd gen Hemi introduced in 300C in about 2002, 2003.5 Ram replaces the venerable but softer 5.9L Magnum V8 with the 345 cid (5.7L) Hemi, Ram gets multi-displacement in the Hemi in '05, then it gets power upgrades in ~2008 and ~2013... sorry folks but Chrysler/Dodge/Ram has pushed both the efficiency and power envelope on production V8's going back over two decades, often with GM and Ford playing catchup -- even if slightly more reliable -- at after stage. Heck, this goes back '56 and the first-gen Hemi reaching 1 HP per cubic inch before the big two. Just for fun: look up how much the airflow is on the 'Eagle' Hemi heads and tell me the closet GM and Ford V8 engines. The number is outrageous, and hint: David Freiburger and his colleagues talk about it in one episode of Engine Masters on Motortrend.
