Hi, Thanks for the great video. I have question about the top and bottom horizontal trimmers. Don't they need to be double? On the government web site it shows the vertical trimmers are single and horizontal trimmers are double.

Hi regulations differ for different parts off the country also depending on size off rafters! Regulations veri from loft to loft 👍

Useful info on the opening dimensions but how d'you fill the 10 mm or so gap between window and the rafters? Cheers!

Everything gets insulated to building controls standards mate then plasterboard and plastering to finish 👍

An informative video mate. A few different camera angles would improve it further. Did you get building control involved for your structural alteration?
@dragontamerdan75253 жыл бұрын
Thank you and yes building control are needed to pass of loft conversion

@@dragontamerdan7525 yeah I was aware BC were needed for structural alts and conversions. did you convert the loft into a habitable room? Be interesting to hear how you mitigated the fire risk.

Do you have to double up from purlins or all the way from plate to top the issue is I can’t fit full length of timber because of purlins?
@jonwikan3986 Жыл бұрын
Steel flitch plates will flex so you can get them in but honestly, I would just shorten the sisters at the top and screw with some 2 7/8 screws made for sistering(Headlok?) They recommend certain screw patterns that are staggered.
