Cheers Tim. It’s incredible the number of military airfields that were built during the war. I hadn’t heard of Birch before.

Especially in my neck of the woods. Maybe another video on the subject at some point?

First time I've heard of Birch, so thank you for covering it. Glad the trimmer is back in operation - a job well done. Catch you soon, best wishes Tim.

Thank you. Not too many people are aware of RAF Birch.

I'm glad the trim tab fix wasn't much of a problem. I'm also glad that when/if the powerlines pass, they will pass underground in the area of Nayland. As you say, who know's what could happen by 2030. Not to make too negative a comparison but I expect there were many town & country planners in 1933 who confindently said "We aim to do this by 1940", not knowing.

Trimmer was not a problem to sort out but the original video does not show the stick force needed at times. I know many airfields were visited by the power network people.

You know, sometimes the simplest of Vlogs are just the best It's interesting to hear about Birch... Enjoy the weekend, hope you are getting some of the good weather I am reading about in the UK.

Thank you. The sound on this one was not good as I recorded straight onto the camera. It has been very hot here!

Interesting comments re Birch airfield. I flew in there back in the 1980,s in the back of a Pa23 Aztec , the runway at that time was a grass strip just south of the roadway. The land owner was learning to fly twins at that time.

Another great video sir! I loved learning about Birch & so sad it was such a poorly utilised resource! It’s amazing how much we take things like trim for granted until they malfunction! I arrived late for the Kittyhawk event & think I missed all the fun 🤷🏻♂️

Hi Tim, I don't know what happened to my response on here... I'm sure I hit 'comment'! 🤪 Anyway, as I recall I said that I totally enjoyed the video and the information about Birch was fascinating and totally unknown to me... until I saw your vid! 👌👏👏 (I'll try to post this by hitting the 'comment' key harder this time!!!)

That chuffing cable is going to cause problems for Priory Farm, Tibernham and others. Why they don't just stick under the sea and bring it out at the old nucular stations is beyond me, I have been told the sea option is cheaper as well. I update my pilot aware through the phone app and it is so much easier and you don't lose the settings, bonus.

I agree about the under sea route and will have to read up on the PilotAware app.
