I am so proud to see you using your breathing protection for every cut! Good on you Brother. You are moving right along on the build. You will be extremely happy you filled the gap in between the front windows. Years from now when you stand in front of those windows on a cool crisp morning looking out at the new dawn, standing there in your underwear and fuzzy slippers drinking a cup of hot coffee, watching the deer and the turkey run around the field, you will not feel any cool spots coming at you. Oh man. What have I done? I now I have to get that image out of my head. Thanks.

Jackets and bennies in the morning, T-shirt and shorts mid day..gotta love Florida lol. Something IMO that looks good, especially if you're looking for an outdoorsy kinda look is metal roofing on the ceiling part of the porch. I've even seen folks use it inside the house. Anything from new shiny stuff to old rustic looking tin.

Uneven / wavy roof trim the easy way: Tack up your trim with equal gap (if one) on both ends. Then use a "shop drawing compass with pencil" to trace the roof to the trim. The result will be a wavy line on the trim mirroring the roof. Take down the trim & cut it with your gig saw. You should have a perfect fit. Good luck.

You could remove the brick mold from the doors so you can make them match the windows. I know brick mold is used alot where brick is not used, but sometimes I think those jobs would look better with a different trim.

Good evening Andrew, you really made me laugh when you made a mess filling up the bar between your windows[ your words]. Wasn't a mess, just how things go when trying to improvise on doing something sometimes. My suggestion ( might be a little expensive) on the ceiling on your patio would to do the same thing that you are planning on doing on the inside. Where it looks like it goes from the inside to the outside is a very clean and rich look. Seen that done in so expensive cabins in Colorado. If you are able to do that I know that you would really like and be impressed [ and everyone else] by the look of it. Still enjoying the content keep it up!

Re: The blocking not even with the purlins and causing bumps or bulges... Would a DeWalt Planer take enough material off the blocking to make it flush? When I saw the stack of it before installation, I kept my thoughts to myself, lol. A year later when I was back up visiting again, installation was complete and it really looks great. Just a thought.

@TKCL

If put on top that would leave very large gaps and require a lot of caulk that will eventually crack. I've always installed the trim first. It's also specifically sized to allow the lap siding to come out flush with it.

It’ll screw up your algorithm and get you less views but to get around that just put out a little three minute video blog saying I’m going toBob’s wedding and then dinner at my aunts house and a video will be here later this week. Your viewers are fine with it and they don’t even need the video, I just say do the video to keep your KZbin algorithms going because this is sort of your job now. 😂😂 but you don’t have to do a big orchestrated video you can just grab your phone and do a quick blog and paying the phone around and say here’s this here’s that video should be coming out later this week I’ll be busy whatever blah blah blah and enough people will watch it keep your videos in their newsfeed and I don’t think any of your viewers are really gonna care. That’s life and you need to live it and you don’t need to be on video all the time but you can pump those out in a few minutes and you don’t have to edit and I don’t think anybody will really care. Lol. You make awesome videos but not every video Hass to be that quality or that much work. People aren’t gonna disappear because you do a quick three minute log video, they’ll be fine. Lol

Don't you have that mider saw? Seems it be easyer to use for your cuts. And a table saw for cutting you trim might be better and safer. As somehow you make that saw look heavy bud. And you did not put the straps for the drywall humm. Ok also no drywall on the celing? Again odd. Fire restrictions normally require for 15 minute flame retarding? Up to you bud. But I am telling you that you should add drywall for fire code.... the space over your heat sources might also benefit from it. Not about scarring you. But here in Canada fire codes say 2 layers of drywall will give you extra 30 minutes to get outside.... it can save your life bud.... might be diffrent codes for you but if it can save yourself why not?
