Sorry for this long comment. I’m sorry you guys are having to deal with such a sample, and fully understand your frustration. Please allow me to advice everyone reading this: 1) Some people are socially challenged and they don’t have the ability to filter anything. They seriously lack that aspect and can’t control it. Can you imagine their homes and their lives? And for others, it’s difficult to see that fine line, therefore they end up crossing it without knowing. 2) KZbin is international. So when factoring in world’s population, we really don’t know the sorts of cultures are watching. I’m from Kuwait, a fan of your channels for obvious reasons. I travel a lot and I’ve seen things 😊 Cultures are extremely different than your part of the world. For example, in India, it’s socially acceptable to pick your nose in public when it’s a no no at a neighboring. Respect is expressed in so many different ways, like when compelled to kiss the hand of an older person or taking shoes off when entering homes or even saying a prayer before entering a bathroom. Yes, and it gets weirder 😊 what’s acceptable at some places are not acceptable at others. 3) Another example to continue #2, my first language is Arabic. A very small percentage of people in my country has a good enough English. The language barrier for a lot of people can also play a huge role when trying to express their thoughts, opinions, or feelings. So couple that with the socially challenged and you might end up with a monkey jumping over the place 😅 This also goes for language tones that are acceptable in some places are not acceptable at others. 4) Not for the normal person, but as content creators for a main income, extra patience is key. Best to breathe deep and let it go on exhale. Time is too precious to be paused over this. Again sorry for this lengthy thing, please take it lightly, I just wanted to somehow help people expand the patience threshold. Not to lower anyone’s standards, but just to help let some things pass and not to let them get in the way of anyone’s progress. I think the world in the larger picture needs it, especially these days when we all need to come together. I’m hoping you guys spread thing message through your platform, maybe a collaboration would be masked with some fun? You guys are always super fun no matter what, and that’s a gift. And of course you’re free to ignore me, block me, or whatever. But I promise not to do this again 🤣

I started watching your channel in earnest when you moved to your new property and always look forward to your next video. 100% support your full statement. Gardening is about the individual garden. Learn, be inspired and keep negativity out. Showing gratitude that any content creator is taking the time to share with us, is wonderful because I have learned so much and now my garden is thriving and my family and friends love it. All that I know is from content creators and books they have shared which also lead me to purchasing books from everywhere, even from thrift stores. Thank you Janie and Jason and all positive content creators, keep going!!!! Loads of love from Texas.

You will love the alyssum! Even if it is a perennial there, it will probably reseed itself too. It does prefer cooler temps. Mine have reseeded in my pots for a few years now, which is fine with me! I just pull out the older straggly ones when they die back in the heat and new flowers sprout from self sown seeds when it cools down again. 🌸🌸🌸

I’m amazed at how robust the Dichondra Silver Falls plants are in your zig-zag planter. Even with your trimming of the Dichondra they’re still very full. I’m jealous! With your large garden you probably don’t have time for this extra task but I’ve found I can thin out this trailing plant even more by running my garden gloved hand through the plant after pruning it and giving a bit of a tug-and-tear to thin it out even more to allow in more air and light. Congratulations on all the work you’ve completed in your garden this year. It’s been a joy to see.

Janey no need to apologize for reminding people to be kind and thoughtful with their comments! Your channel is wonderful and like you said 99.9% of the comments are positive. I attempt to read most of the comments because I love learning from fellow gardeners. Anyway enough about that. I feel you trying to find cool weather plants as I’ve been on the hunt for some. I did find some cyclamen at Home Depot and Lowe’s. I think Robbie said he found some on sale at Home Depot. They are a little pricey so it would be costly to fill your zig zag but they might look nice in your white pots with some type of spiller.

I loved the diachondra silver falls last Spring with the supertunias and whatever the purple flower you had in there. It reminded me of a bridal bouquet. Our house in Fresno had a narrow brick planter and it had begonias in it. They were lovely as they were upright AND spilled down the front. White begonias might be a lovely spiller for you. Also, I am on team pomegranate. When we moved into our current house, there was a shrubby pomegranate plant in the back corner. It was so dense that I couldn’t even get to most of the pomegranates. I chose one trunk and made it into a small tree. It looks beautiful and graceful and the branches kind of weep down. Now I only prune branches that are growing crazy or straight up.

You should do great with the alyssum seeds. They reseed themselves here quite readily in the Fall and are a gorgeous bee magnet, so they should love your climate. I just dig up the extras and move them around the garden to fill in. May I recommend that you can use hedge shears to make cutting back things like that dichondra much quicker and easier, being the old lady that I am, it will save both your knees and your back. 😁 I applaud your choice to keep the dichondra. No reason to pull it when it can be neatened up and will be so pretty come spring. Overseeding the alyssum is a wonderful tactic. We had our first hard freeze and snow so my garden in basically done. Love seeing yours still looking so pretty.
