wow, love the end result even if I would never attempt this 😅 I think this mod really shows that if a deck doesn't shuffle well because of the card stock, trimming won't help it, but if it's the size it will. With this deck it was both, so you fixed at least half of the problem 😁

It still doesn't shuffle wonderfully but it's a big improvement for me. At least I can hang on to it now. 🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️

What a great modification of these decks. Just a tip to cut round edges. You need to keep the scissors in the one position and move the card in the circular motion. Do not move the scissors the should be pointing straight ahead and this will give you a fluid cut. This is something I learned from my scrapbooking days. It takes a bit to get used to but I’ve found it highly effective. I hope that helps. Thank you again for giving us an insight into your creative process.

Oh I really LIKE the square version!! I have this deck. then i saw it came out later in a mini size! I think I would like to re-shape, mod the deck I have - into the square and then get the round mini deck. I like the bigger book then that came with the original size. I just found you ... was watching a review from another channel of the Wildwood deck and she mentioned your channel ... here I am. I would have never imagined moding a deck ... but you got me into it! There are decks I could really like but don't get because of things that I now realize I can alter. I can alter, have fun doing it and artistically with my own taste and style by my own hands. I, like yourself, enjoy the time and investment of myself into spending with my decks!! They're individually different relationships! Thank you! Really enjoy your content! Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. 🕊 🫶 💪 🪷

I'm exactly the same way about shuffling and handling a deck. For me it's all about the riffle shuffle and connecting with the deck through touch. Without that a deck is just a beautiful piece of art I'll pull out occasionally to look at.

I love what you are doing with the cards but unfortunately I don’t have your patience to do 78 cards. So what I do is shuffle the cards in smaller piles then bring them all together for a final shorter shuffle as a collective. Seems to work for me . I too have quite small hands so to shuffle all together is almost impossible.

Wow! What a courageous trimming!!! Fabulous work!!! I really cannot understand the idea of round decks, so uncomfortable to hold...Maybe just for collecting or display, but to give them a proper use I’d go for the conventional styled decks. TWU may have a go launching it in the style of their previous creations.

I had a thought for trimming when you can't use the cutter. Could you maybe make a template for the shape you want and then cut them with an exacto knife? I don't know if it would be more or less precise than just scissors. Or if it might take too much time to be worth it. I don't currently have a deck I can test it on. But it's a concept. (Not at all saying that there's anything wrong with carefully trimming with scissors, it looks absolutely amazing. Just a theory for a method that might work for round/odd shaped decks.)
@DawnMichelleTarot4 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea, I haven't tired anything like that yet (other using a craft knife to cut contact paper when I reback a deck. I might have to give that a go. Thank you for the suggestion. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

Echoing what others have said but the perfect words for this are indeed Fabulous and Brave and Inspired! I love round decks: I like the directionality they bring to the reading, I am excited to see them in contrast to rectangular cards in spreads which brings vitality to mixed deck readings, among other things. But - I do not like the jumbo sizes they come in! Why can’t they make them normal tarot size? The Gorgon tarot is another jumbo example that makes the deck completely unusable, as you say. Anyway, thanks so much for showing all the details so that we can really learn how to do this ourselves. Love the triangle piece to help with the side cuts - I’m going to try that too. Thanks for all the inspiration you ignite!

Yup, turns out I don't really like round decks so I changed the shape and turned into something I could handle.
@a_bookish_gemini2 жыл бұрын
She didn’t “buy it just to disfigure them”. She bought them, realized the round shape doesn’t work for her (and she’s not alone with that opinion) and decided to transform them to be useable rather than throw them away or have them collect dust on the shelf. I don’t see the issue.
