Hi Mike Thanks for the great explanation, I learned a lot just watch them, but also I found a few problem on my boat mainly design issues. For example I have no genoa only one jib (22' trailer yacht fractional rig) and the extended line of the jib sheet couldn't go higher than the lower third of the head stay and even I move the car aft doesn't change on the twist. I have pointing ability problem as well. Without change the head sail I have one option to improve the sheet line position, to lift up my jib approximately +400mm from the deck (200mm the clearance now). Do you think it could help on my problem? Also what is the optimal distance between the mainsail and the luff of the head sail? Thanks

forgive me, I'm new at this, I believe all your saying and sure that is it true but in the case of the norway couple on youtube that used a wind device for auto pilot and just sat back for hours going in the right direction, Im taking it that if you have to go in one direction only you just take what it give you, would this be a fair assessment. Thanks.

Max Stevens , hi Max, if you want to go faster, yes do what he says. But if you just want to sail do what you want. When the sails start to luff bring thin in until they stop, or let then out until they stop luffing. Hope this helps.
