If you can stretch the budget to get a used PSVita 1K or 2K, DO IT. Premium hardware, runs all the way up to PS1 just like these devices and its moddable to run RetroArch. Plus it runs VITA games.

I only recently found out about the modded Vita scene. It sounds like it might be great and im sure it does well with PSP, PS Vita and PS1 as it is the original hardware these games were designed for. The downside for me is just the price. I had a look around and couldn't find a second hand vita for less than $150. At that price i would rather get something like the RG556 that can emulate some PS2 and gamecube games aswell.Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

If you want a decent psp handheld experience get the TSP. If you value games up to ps1/n64 era and want to connect the device to your TV, get the 40XX.

@@kuffor1989 yes it can play ps1 without issues although the extra screen realestate on the TSP makes no difference unless you like to play ps1 with a stretched aspect ratio. The 40xxh has hdmi out whereas the TSP doesn’t.

@@kuffor1989 Hi there the TSP can run PS1 games very well from what i have seen. It only starts struggling when you get to more 3d heavy content on Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo 64. It can play some titles on these consoles but not all of them.Thanks for watching.

The Smart Pro has come a long way due to cfw the last few months. I know a lot of people really love it. Unfortunately, those sticks were a complete deal breaker for me. Great comparison video, my friend!

From what I can see it sounds like it has developed a lot. Wanna take a look at what is being said about crossmix OS on it. It is really sad that the sticks are not better. Quite a few reviewers confirmed they were not great. The pro just seems like a better deal with the firmware support and the larger better screen but I can see how bad sticks can really cause someone to turn away. Apparently if you calibrate them with the on firmware feature for that they are a bit better, but I haven't had hands on so I can't say how much. Thanks for the feedback 😁👍

Which is better? The Trimui Smart Pro or the modded PS Vita?

Hi There. I have to say i didn't know that the Whole Modded Vita Thing existed. Just did some research on it and it seems as though it would run everything sony great as well as older retro Games like SNES, Gameboy and Genesys. The Reviews i found on it did mentions some niggels with N64 content though so if you go this route you may have to be willing to tinker with emulator settings and different cores to get certain games to run. If you can get an Oled PS Vita it would look better than the Trimui Smart Pro. The downside on a modded Vita for me is the Price. You can get the Trimui Smart Pro for around $50 if you're lucky and it will probably run things like N64 better. I could not find a Modded Vita for less than $150. Also Based on the Vita's hardware and the reviews i've seen it sounds like it might run PSP games better than the Smart Pro but at $140 you could rather consider something like the Anbernic RG556 which can run PSP like a dream and run PS2 and gamecube emulation and it has an Oled Screen aswell(Not all games but many). It retails for around $160-$175. That's my opinion based of some quick research. Hope it helps.

adjust the analog stick's with the custom software on the trimui and add tall thumb pads and you cured the issue with its analog stick. its a handheld so no real need for video out, if you want to play on a tv buy a console or steam deck/switch. as for the wifi so what at least it has it and it works not going to be playing online games a lot and if streaming games is your goal again buy another type console or handheld, as for stiff trigger buttons they do "break in" and get a bit loser, however you adjust to both the d-pad and triggers within an hour of using it.

I did see some reviewers mentioning that the analog sticks are betetr after calibration and i can imagine adding custom thumb pads would help. The video out is not a deal breaker for me but i would still like it as an option evethough it is not the primary purpose of the console, thats just me though. i agree on the wifi it would not be too much of a issue for me but had mention it in the comparison tto give all the facts. it is good to hear that the stiff triggers do get better. I am a fan of the smart pro eventhough i don't own one so trust me in most comparisons i am rooting for it to win and as stated i still believe it to be the better option between these 2 mainly due to the larger screen and the fact that the other issues are not major and can be improved like you stated. Thanks for the comprehensive feedback, i really aprreciate when someone shares detailed information like this that was obtained by using the device extensively.

This whole video is inaccurate.... the 40xxh isn't a clone of the TrumUi Smart Pro, if anything it's more like the rg35xxh got the rg cube treatment.

Hi there. I agree that the Smart Pro is very different from the RG40XX H in terns of the type of processor, the screen size and aspect ration but i was referring to the design and perfromance when i made that statement. They look very similar and just differ in size. Theire button and analog stick plaement are in the same areas on the unit. They also play very similar retro system so there performance is very neck and neck. I hope this clarifies the angle i was coming from when i said that the 40XX H was a bit of a clone of the Pro. I'm really considering trimui smart pro for the psp library. Do you reckon it can run mgs portable ops and peace walker at ease and even bump the fps up to atleast 30 fps? It ran 24 fps natively on psp.

Hi there, I did a bit of digging and found a video done by Big Retro Studio where he shows Gameplay on the smart pro of Mgs Portable Ops and Peace Walker and they seem to run well. Great video, friend. I'm willing to buy a handheld which can run PSP games well, so any of these could be good? Or is the Trimui Smart Pro better in this aspect? I don't think it was quite clear on the video.

Hi There. The Trimui Smart pro can play PSP games but you will most probably not be able to play all PSP games as this system is really the limit of what the smart pro can do. Many reviewers optimised the settings so as to be able to get a playable expereince on heavier games like God of War chanins of olympus. When comparing the Trimui to the 40XXH i would say that the Smart Pro is better for PSP as it has a larger 16:9 screen whihc would just make the games look better. Both the Trimui and the 40XXH will performa about the same in rendering the games but it will ook better on the Smart Pro basicallyt. If you want a smoother experience with PSP the next step up would be the likes of A Retroid Pocket 2 S but it is roughly $100 and has a smaller screen. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

I've been seeing some things about the RG351P, but it seems that the RG35/40xx (or Trimui Smart Pro) are still a better option.

@@equinox1141 Unfortunately other thna the Retroid Pocket 2 S. i am not aware of any Sub $100 (Before Shipping and tax) devices that would perform better than the Trimui Snart Pro with PSP. Definitely none with that screen size. The 351P has a comparable chip but from what i have seen it does not outperform the smart pro and it has a smaller screen with a lower resolution and often costs more. If anyone reading this has knowledge of something better feel free to correct me here.

I heard rumor that there is upgraded version of Trimui. It has better dpad and trigger buttons. You can recognize it by the box - it has three consoles on the top insted of the single one. Unfortunately, I didn't find any comparision of them yet. Which one do you have?

Hi I heard the same rumour. I do not own one unfortunately. The channel and my finances are just not at a place where I can afford these unfortunately 🙈. My videos are based on research and the feedback provided by some of the top hands on reviewers. So basically a very concise factual overview of many different experience's. I always link the source video's my opinions are based on In the description if you want to check them out. I realise that this type of content is not for everyone but I do believe that it still provides some value and more essentially allows me the joy of just being a part of the conversation around these devices which I really do enjoy. Hi there. On paper the Trimui has a slightly faster Cpu but in practise they play more or less the same games at roughly the same speeds. The Trimui may eek out some better performance but only under certain scenarios. If you want to play PC games like Half Life on these it will be done through an app called Portmaster. It is already installed if you get the unit with Crossmix OS(This can be done by purchasing from companies like LITNXT or MechDIY from what i hear) I couldn't find any gameplay video's for the Rg40xxH but im pretty shure it will run Portmaster, just can't confirm how well. Here is a link to a gameplay video for the Smart Pro though that shows how half life is played on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opuseGWZltKirZY. You will have to copy the game files from a installed paid version of the game on a pc and transfer it to the right forlder on the unit if you want to do so though(thats how portmaster works to avoid legal issues) Russ over at Retro Game Corps has a guide on how to do this at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6OklmyGbJl1gqs. I think the bigger screen will serve you well on the smart pro especially for PC Game Ports. If you choose to go this way just be shure to Calibrate the joysticks in the built in app and i have seen some commenters say that adding joystick caps to the smart pro analog sticks improves the expereince with them aswell . Greetings. Did a bit of digging and although i didn't find any gameplay video's of Patapon being played on the RG40XX H i did find a short of someone playing the game on the RG35XX which (if it is the new 2024 version) is playing the first and 3rd game just fine as far as i can see. Now the RG35XX 2024 has the same chipset as the RG40XX H so they game should play fine on Th RG40XX H aswell. If it is the older version of the RG35XX in the video it is even more likely that it will play on the RG40XX H as the older RG35XX had a weaker chipset than the RG40XX H. Hope this helps. Trimui Smart pro справится с некоторыми играми PSP, но будет испытывать трудности с более тяжелыми играми, такими как Gran Turismo и Prince of Persia, в которые практически невозможно играть.
