If you can stretch the budget to get a used PSVita 1K or 2K, DO IT. Premium hardware, runs all the way up to PS1 just like these devices and its moddable to run RetroArch. Plus it runs VITA games.

I only recently found out about the modded Vita scene. It sounds like it might be great and im sure it does well with PSP, PS Vita and PS1 as it is the original hardware these games were designed for. The downside for me is just the price. I had a look around and couldn't find a second hand vita for less than $150. At that price i would rather get something like the RG556 that can emulate some PS2 and gamecube games aswell.Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

Agree with your Star Wars-aesthetic take: the subtle trim around the face elements and clear window (so that you don’t have a bunch of seemingly empty, extraneous blank space) give it that slight flavor without surrendering to “let’s add a bunch of optional LED lighting just to pad the features list.”

@@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh The PowKiddy has a bigger battery lasting 10 hrs along with analog sticks. The Trimui has a much sleek design with a set of front facing speakers and a USB-C OTG port between the triggers. Great video, friend. I'm willing to buy a handheld which can run PSP games well, so any of these could be good? Or is the Trimui Smart Pro better in this aspect? I don't think it was quite clear on the video.
@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh7 күн бұрын
Hi There. The Trimui Smart pro can play PSP games but you will most probably not be able to play all PSP games as this system is really the limit of what the smart pro can do. Many reviewers optimised the settings so as to be able to get a playable expereince on heavier games like God of War chanins of olympus. When comparing the Trimui to the 40XXH i would say that the Smart Pro is better for PSP as it has a larger 16:9 screen whihc would just make the games look better. Both the Trimui and the 40XXH will performa about the same in rendering the games but it will ook better on the Smart Pro basicallyt. If you want a smoother experience with PSP the next step up would be the likes of A Retroid Pocket 2 S but it is roughly $100 and has a smaller screen. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

Miyoo Mini has more vibrant screen though. Also, I hate to be that, but.. Onion OS is miles better than any other CFW including MuOS. Also if you overclock MM ps1 core it basically plays every single ps1 game at decent speed. Another observation is that Resident Evil games work faster on MM lol. I mean these delays when a new background loads. It feels that on anything but MM and Android handhelds it takes about 1.5 more time to load. So MM is the winner for me. And that is coming from a guy that is a huge Dreamcast fan, which can't be emulated on MM.

Hi there. Thanks for the detailed feedback. Always good to hear about a first hand experience. I am shure you are correct in saying that Onion OS is brilliant. Just from watching reviews i have heard so much about it. I acan also see the value that the MM+ offers for such a low price but personally i think the little space to hold and interact with it would bug me and the larger screen more power and features of the 40XXV just ahas me sold. Bear in mind i have only played a bit with a friends MM+ and i haven't ever handled a 40XXV so that opinion might change when i do one day. My feedback is based of what i am getting from other s in the community. If i had to buy at this stage i would honestly have to say i would choose the 40XXV just from what is being said of it but if if im really budget constrained the MM+ would also be good. Hope this clarifies my view and position. Thanks again for sharing, you have some very valid points.

Which is better? The Trimui Smart Pro or the modded PS Vita?
@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh8 күн бұрын
Hi There. I have to say i didn't know that the Whole Modded Vita Thing existed. Just did some research on it and it seems as though it would run everything sony great as well as older retro Games like SNES, Gameboy and Genesys. The Reviews i found on it did mentions some niggels with N64 content though so if you go this route you may have to be willing to tinker with emulator settings and different cores to get certain games to run. If you can get an Oled PS Vita it would look better than the Trimui Smart Pro. The downside on a modded Vita for me is the Price. You can get the Trimui Smart Pro for around $50 if you're lucky and it will probably run things like N64 better. I could not find a Modded Vita for less than $150. Also Based on the Vita's hardware and the reviews i've seen it sounds like it might run PSP games better than the Smart Pro but at $140 you could rather consider something like the Anbernic RG556 which can run PSP like a dream and run PS2 and gamecube emulation and it has an Oled Screen aswell(Not all games but many). @TheTechUpdate-ui1fh12 күн бұрын
Hi there. On paper the Trimui has a slightly faster Cpu but in practise they play more or less the same games at roughly the same speeds. The Trimui may eek out some better performance but only under certain scenarios. If you want to play PC games like Half Life on these it will be done through an app called Portmaster. It is already installed if you get the unit with Crossmix OS(This can be done by purchasing from companies like LITNXT or MechDIY from what i hear) I couldn't find any gameplay video's for the Rg40xxH but im pretty shure it will run Portmaster, just can't confirm how well. Here is a link to a gameplay video for the Smart Pro though that shows how half life is played on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opuseGWZltKirZY. You will have to copy the game files from a installed paid version of the game on a pc and transfer it to the right forlder on the unit if you want to do so though(thats how portmaster works to avoid legal issues) Russ over at Retro Game Corps has a guide on how to do this at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6OklmyGbJl1gqs. I think the bigger screen will serve you well on the smart pro especially for PC Game Ports. If you choose to go this way just be shure to Calibrate the joysticks in the built in app and i have seen some commenters say that adding joystick caps to the smart pro analog sticks improves the expereince with them aswell . Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

adjust the analog stick's with the custom software on the trimui and add tall thumb pads and you cured the issue with its analog stick. its a handheld so no real need for video out, if you want to play on a tv buy a console or steam deck/switch. as for the wifi so what at least it has it and it works not going to be playing online games a lot and if streaming games is your goal again buy another type console or handheld, as for stiff trigger buttons they do "break in" and get a bit loser, however you adjust to both the d-pad and triggers within an hour of using it.

I did see some reviewers mentioning that the analog sticks are betetr after calibration and i can imagine adding custom thumb pads would help. The video out is not a deal breaker for me but i would still like it as an option evethough it is not the primary purpose of the console, thats just me though. i agree on the wifi it would not be too much of a issue for me but had mention it in the comparison tto give all the facts. it is good to hear that the stiff triggers do get better. I am a fan of the smart pro eventhough i don't own one so trust me in most comparisons i am rooting for it to win and as stated i still believe it to be the better option between these 2 mainly due to the larger screen and the fact that the other issues are not major and can be improved like you stated. Looking to get on camera one day soon aswell so hopefully that will ad a bit to the expereince. Unfortunatley i doubt the Smart Pro can run anything newer than PSP emulation even lightweight 2d games. The minimum requirements for PS2 emulation far exceeds what the smart pro has available hardware wize. Not too mention the software compatibility of the emulators with the firmware. Switch emulation is even more demanding so i don't think it would run. I could be wrong as i don't know everything but i looked around and i could not find any references to someone having succesfully done this. I do think however that it should be possible to get some lightweight linux distro's to run on the device as the stock firmware is linux based. Maybe something like Ubuntu Mate? Once again could not find any reference to anyone who has tried this so you it would be an expeirment if you do. Just make sure your research it up first, wouldn't want you to brick your device somehow as this is unexplored teritory to me so i would not be able to tell you how.

@@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh i see i see, well i probably won't try that yet, i think i will send you more info when i try certain stuff... I think honestly it could run some really light weight wii or wii ware games (Example, GNOMZ)

@@M.N.9 I think it may be possible to run some Wii light games if the emulator can work on the device. You are welcome to send info at any time. I enjoy discussing and debating this kind of thing😁👍

Hey a fellow African, it is my pleasure. Does the Shire in your username refer to the one in the Lord of the Rings?

@@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh Hello African....well the Shire is the name of the Biggest River in Malawi and I live on the highlands of that river...Hence the name. I am yet to watch the Lord of the Rings.

I feel like I’m the only one who hates the trimui smart pro, the joysticks are trash, the trigger and bumper also bad, tiny dpad, not user friendly, I installed the new cross mix os and still don’t like it

Not the only one, I know of 1 or 2 youtubers that don't like it either, specifically due to the inset analog sticks. Personally i like the value that it offers on paper but i have not had hands on with the unit so i may feel differently if i ever did. Thanks for watching though, maybe consider the Powkiddy RGB10 Max 3? Same Price and from what i hear better analogs and triggers?

@@jonathanwhite9490 Interesting, Must say the Max3 has made me look twice aswell. Sad to hear that the Smart Pro was a let down. I lke the look of it and the ongoing support is a good thing in my book. But the HDMI out on the Max 3 is a great extra that the pro does not have and it makes me think that it may be the better buy.

@@TheTechUpdate-ui1fh perhaps I just had a faulty unit but definitely still prefer the powkiddy better joysticks slightly better dpad and as you mentioned the hdmi option

Considering the stock memory card went corrupted after 24 hours and seeing there was nothing i could do about it on the system itself. Couldn't even look at the files if i wanted too because no file app. I would say its a def a install. Not only that, if you mess up retroarch by tinkering with the settings. You get locked out. The crossmix has a separate retroarch app so you can fix unintentional saves. Lastly. Updates. Crossmix can do it off the system. Stock you have to DL and put on a memory card yourself. Pain in the ass. Just DL crossmix.

Sounds like very valid reasons to Install Crossmix. Didn't know you get locked out if you mess up Retro arch you get locked out. Thanks for the feedback!

I pre-ordered 6 of the 24 GB 1TB models. I also picked up 4 special edition 16 GB 1TB DMG models as well. Because I own every model of the Odin2, Max, So I had to do the same for the AYANEO!
