Thanks, ironically I just put a pot on to cook slowly. I soaked my black eyed peas overnight. I added a diced onion, olive oil, and sea salt while they are cooking down. In a few hours I will add my smoked turkey necks and a half of a can of glory greens with my sea salt with thyme, and a few splashes of slap ya momma spices. I’ll add a few cloves of fresh garlic, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, and a spoon full of brown sugar. In lieu of cornbread, hubby brought me a nice loaf of bread from Costco that has three cheeses, and rosemary and yummy good if I dip it in some olive oil with my special spices. Love you two ur beautiful in the kitchen. Tina u stir ur soft foods too much learn to fold as a pose to stirring...breaks up ur soft foods makes like gravy or soups especially peas,beans,should be able to stand apart in the juices unless they are supposed to be thick and eaten with rice

Cornbread looks delicious, just add a stick up butter and let it melt. Add the honey last. Eight pokes works for me, easier to cut the cornbread in chunky slices. Yummy. Oooo black eye peas, liver and gravy with onions sounds delicious Trina and Von.

Von has an OCD with wiping up everything constantly with paper towels. Look into some micro cloths to clean up with that you throw in the wash to be reused.

I only liked liver the way my mom made it I remember her frying it first n made some homemade gravy from the drippings and onions and then placed the liver and gravy on rice

To avoid soaking, I cook my beans either in the crockpot or pressure cooker. Those are other options.
