Back in the 60's, we lived in Caterham, dad was the village barbour, next door was Hammonds shoe repairs, he would do the same repaire that you showed, we were close to a big army barraks, the storeman would arrive in a truck with dozens of boots for repair, also a couple of miles away was RAF Kenley, this to provided most of pop hammonds work, great to see the skill is still available

Now that was really interesting and fantastic work. I'm ex RAF from the 70's we did not have drill boots like those, but had Boots DMS with the Goodyear "commando " tread pattern rubber sole. A few years later for a different job I bought many pairs new and used only to find the soles crumbling and falling off! I know the shoes were Bata, but can't recall the boot manufacturer.

I'm from Woking outside the nightclub here there is a Hawker Hunter (same as the one in your video) but its been painted silver on a huge 50 foot steel pole. Great vid as always and congrats to your Grandparents. :)

Happy anniversary to your amazing Grandparents. I inherited my Grandad's screwdrivers and other tools. They are exactly the same style as yours and my Grandad was born in 1904, so his tools must date from at the early 1920s I reckon. He left school at 14 and did a 3 year appenticeship and I would guess he bought his tools just before setting up as self-employed. Likely as not, your Grandad's tools were inherited from his parents.
