ZAHEERA because Trinidadians, Guyanese, Surinamese, Jamaicans, Mauritians, Fijians & South African Indians were all taken by the British from Uttar Pradesh & Bihar speaking Bhojpuri in the 1800’s

Seems like most Trini street food is Indian-influenced. And they look amazing. Is it less common to see Afro-Trini, Chinese-Trini, or Syrian-Trini food being sold at street vendor stalls?

The Indians are the ones who sell some of their food on the streets. If you want other foods, you have to go to homes food malls, restaurants and hotels. To be honest, I would only eat curry foods only twice a month. I could not eat that type of food every day. Trinidad is blessed with foods from many countries in this world.

Lord, I miss those rotis and channa. The last time we went to Tobago, we didn't get to eat a single roti. Apparently all the shops close at 4pm, and we roamed around looking for a place to eat, but none were open. So it had to be KFC ha ha.

Trinidad has a street food scene? Growing up, every time some idiot distant relative from Trinidad visited us, they were always harping that "every thing's getting expensive blah blah blah, nothing is the same anymore" I was under the impression that the street food was a disaster but it looks like it's still kicking. See guys, this is why you never listen to anyone and always fact check.
@ladynoir3088

am from Trinidad and its very cheap if u live away your money is worth more than us so a doubles is worth 5 dollars now and that's now expensive its just some people can afford it and some can't

that was once upon a time ago, they have become so commercialized that their food is horrible. Their black burnt saheena, you have to look for the bhagi leaves, too much flour, spoil chutney and the list goes on. I am in a position to compare from in the early 90s to now. Only 2 weeks ago i bought some saheenas after maybe 10 years, and I had to throw it away. I would not be buying any of this again!
