Tinny, I love this series because we all have clothes in our closet that we love but don’t know what to do to make them work for us today. Thank you for doing this series; it was so helpful. Even if we go to a seamstress with some of Susannah’s gems that could start the process of changing an item we don’t have to toss because it doesn’t work. Buying beautiful items on sale but finding they are not quite what we expected means alterations can keep us from feeling we wasted our money. DDecker

In addition to altering clothing to get more wear, try taking shoes to the cobbler for improvements and repairs. It's amazing how much can be done to restore shoes and give them more life.

I find this fascinating!! Adjusting clothes to make them truly personal. I have done minor tweaks on my own and then taken clothes to a tailor for more intricate alterations but Azucena makes us all look like amateurs!!!

So funny. I'm in a wheelchair, and for me sidepockets are a big no-no. It makes your belly look inflatted all of the time. But no matter if it works for me, your tips work for me everytime! Because you explain the idea. And then I can run with it. So thank you Trinny!

Back when the pandemic was really bad I went with a friend to a store & bought a pretty Chaus top that was greatly reduced (couldn't try it on, the dressing rooms were closed). It was my size so I thought it would be okay but it was way big. I thought I could alter it though (it is nicely made) & I really took it up everywhere. It was kind of fun.

I have to alter my waistbands on all my trousers bcos of my odd shape but it’s worth doing and makes my clothes more wearable. Spent £100 on a little sewing machine. Nothing fancy but works a treat. I especially like that it has a stretch stitch

I’d love a nude pure silk cami (or highly breathable fabric) (few skin tones) with shoulder pads as the power net might be sweaty and hot in Australian summers, but perfect for the rest of the year. Also please consider petite women for those of us that have small shoulders and definitely look 80’s on us otherwise. Love the alterations, I do my own because I’m petite with little shape. I would love to find an affordable and clever Azucena clone! I liked her vest in this video, thanks gorgeous wimmin!

Idea 💡 Instead of a shoulder pad tank top - why not do a shoulder pad sports bra type shape…I don’t mean sports bra in the sense of for sports, but something fitted so one need not wear a brassiere - and then instead of spaghetti straps the straps are shoulder pads!
