I’ve had this headcanon for a while that the characters sort of subconsciously choose what their super forms look like, based on how they imagine the emeralds’ power. Trip imagined herself as a powerful dragon, so she became one. Sonic imagined himself as a Super Saiyan, Chaos imagined himself as a monster, Shadow imagined changing from dark to light, Blaze imagined letting her flames envelop her instead of containing them, and Silver just mimicked Sonic and Shadow. The other characters either don’t have a mental image of the power, or just don’t care what it looks like, so they just look like themselves but shinier. Just an idea.

@clone6141 Eggman’s artificial intelligence is extremely advanced, his robots do a lot of things he clearly wouldn’t program them to do. Metal Sonic and Omega betrayed him of their own free will, Orbot and Cubot are hilariously inept at their duties, Gamma had a full-on existential crisis and destroyed his brothers, Sage developed a sense of kinship towards him, and even the Egg Pawns display basic survival instincts that override their presumed purpose of killing Sonic (they also display a libido, which is even more unbelievable). It’s also possible that he uploaded his data about Super Sonic into Mecha Sonic’s brain and instructed it to mimic that.

Fang's mistreats Trip the whole game, and even in the little animations he shows her no compassion or care. Amy's kindness showed her she does not have to take this and can have friends that care about her, unconditionally. The Heel-Face turn was basically all but assured.

Does this imply that super forms is or can be a evolution process of sorts? Is Super Sonic actually an evolved version of a anthropomorphic hedgehog? Like what if you had a hedgehog and gave it immense energy and let it adapt to said energy. You'd get Super Sonic. What if a wisp used the chaos emeralds? Could they evolve into a mother wisp equivalent? People have already theorized that Chaos 1-6 is equal to the Ancient's tribes. So is Perfect Chaos just a more destructive evolved version of the Ancients? Maybe if the Ancients were at war with the End for long enough they would eventually adapt and evolve into something similar to Perfect Chaos. Something more suitable for war as opposed to how they were originally more reliant on technology. Kind of similar to Ben 10's Ultimatrix. You take an alien's DNA and age it up in a worst case scenario process by a hundred years or so Now that I think about it. It does make sense why Super Sonic is golden while Super Knuckles is just a slightly lighter color. Since Sonic in general is very powerful and for some reason seems to hold an unnatural amount of energy at all times. While Knuckles is simply really strong and knows martial arts. Maybe since Sonic has lived his entire life with his unnatural speed he's naturally adapted to it. So when he goes Super for his first time he just naturally knows how to use his immense power. You could easily apply this same logic to Shadow Silver and Blaze. Three other characters who have an entirely different super form

Back in my youth, I had made an OC wolf/fox that's super form would end up being a silver dragon. I continued using them as a character in my DnD games as a dragon helping adventuress while in a glamour of a beastperson. A sungazer lizard actually. The dragon part could refer to how that species is sometimes referred to as a dragon lizard so that's kinda clever. Although, given dragons are big deals in fictional worlds, I'm betting she is a descendant of some ancient draconic race who unlocks her true powers via the emeralds or something. Time will tell.
