Was this a good idea???? 70km offshore on my own in a 5 metre tinny.....
Leaving early in the morning my stress levels were high!! I haven't done a trip like this before so i was definitely worried..
This trip I head 70km offshore to the Great Barrier Reef to fish a few reefs and spend the night in a protected Lagoon.
Bloody oath it was a good idea!! I had a ripper day and caught some great fish. Will have to take the family on the next mission i reckon🤙

Travecalm for the sea sickness mate , used them plenty of times when strip baiting for yellow fin tuna off Merimbula side on to the swell . Really enjoyed the video, geez mate your fishing skills have improved 👏👏👍

As usual, a terrific video. Just a thought with regards to your "sea legs". I use to suffer from seasickness quite badly. The deep Indian Ocean swells in the west did not mix well with my farm boy, land lover upbringing. I could reduce the effect of ocean motion by (i) not having a hangover and (ii) the subtle use of Kwell tablets. They may well be a placebo however I found they helped greatly. What eventually cured the condition was competing in the Rottnest Chanel Swim whereby swimmers take turns in the water over the course of 6-7 hours to reach the Island. When one is not in the water swimming, you're on board a small boat rocking about in the Indian Ocean at swimmers pace; the worst scenario for people with sea sickness issues. I completed the entire event without taking on any food and drinking only water. I didn't spew but just felt a little queasy. The seasickness disappears as soon as you dive in and start swimming. With your condition, I couldn't help wondering if you had your usual strong morning coffee prior to setting off. Strong coffee will not go well with people who suffer sea sickness. Maybe try a different beverage and a piece of toast with butter and honey. They would be less likely to cause burley production :)

Some nice fish there Justin, that is livin' yeah the seasickness is a pain in arse mate, I get crook on occasions, not everytime also ,I find no grease foods or dairy helps & pop a Quell. I have found around 6knots for the macs does the trick.

With the amount of travel that you and your family have done, what helped decide on a move to the 1770 area? It looks amazing up there. Macky Lures bud. 6-7 knots . Have them running 20-30 meters past the furthest last point of the Propwash. Then have what's called a Shotgun running out the middle at the point where the Propwash ends at 10 meters behind that mate. Have your two lures either side of the boat 10 meters shorter than one another so they are staggered and you have a spread that are running within 10 meters of each other. Does that make sense ? Its what I learned chasing Spanish on the GBR out of Cairns and worked perfect. And I was given that tip by a pro Macky Fisherman Mate.

Hey great trip had there mate , I see you have an electric water snake, what are your thoughts on it, I’ve just bought one myself due to my minn kota ending its life so I’ve gone the water snake which is well under half the price of a new minn kota and has more power, haven’t had a chance to use mine yet due to weather here in Darwin and work, I mainly bought it for the spot lock which was what I mainly used with the old minn kota for, I look forward to your thoughts on it and have you used it much to do a review on it, thanks and keep the vids coming, we look forward to each one coming out 👍🎣❤️
