Just flown eastern airway yesterday . Humberside to Isle of Man for last day of TT . The jetstream41 and the crew were fantastic

Unless you know what's written in their company manuals and specifically their OME, im not sure you can really say he was controlling and clueless, that to me seems a bit harsh, he may well have just been following his companies SOP, regardless of whether your camera has a flight safe mode or not. Giving his fellow colleagues a coffee / tea, from the provisions for the crew cant really be picked on either. That crew was most likely positioning (so on Duty) to collect the ATR you parked next to at the end. Seems fair that they would be allowed to drink a tea or coffee reserved for the airlines crew, after all whilst they might be sat with you in the cabin they are in fact at work, and could well have had a long day ahead of them.

Appreciate the feedback thank you. I believe the crew flying as PAX may have flown the ATR into SOU the night before and were headed back to base. The reasoning behind the lack of service being due to covid and reducing contact I found BS. The JetStream’s cabin is less than 2m wide and the isle is hardly even an isle so you’re all within very close proximity to one another. Just getting up and moving around you’re more or less climbing on top of one another. Again, appreciate the feedback I kew this review wouldn’t be for everyone, thanks for watching regardless. 👍

@@SOUTHENDAVIATION What im getting at is its one thing to be negative about an airline, and in no way am I defending Eastern, buts its another to pick on a crew member and claim they're useless / clueless / controlling etc when you (most likely) don't have access to their OME (cabin) or OMB (flight deck) or OMA, thus you cant really comment on their use of the SOP, (that varies airline to airline even if flying the same type). Southampton is an Eastern Base, you posted it in a Southampton airport group where there will most likely be Eastern Employees so it may well get back to the person who was in the cabin and it just seems a little unfair. The airline I work for gets critique via customer feedback from time to time regarding certain SOP in the cabin... theres always a good reason as to why something is done in a certain way for a certain airline. RE the catering, could be MANY reasons why Eastern aren't, maybe COVID is an excuse or its part of a larger issue. Keep in mind when Flybe went under Newrest closed most of its out stations meaning to actually cater Aircraft away from certain larger airfields is hard, if not impossible. Cityflyer have been finding this exact problem within the regions of the U.K, maybe Eastern have the same issue, again unless you know the inner workings you probably won't ever know the real reason.

Hmm, not a great review in many ways. You call the cabin crew “clueless” but clearly don’t understand the economics of aviation yourself by comparing a 29 seater flown by a regional airline to the largest airline in Europe, who they will never match on price in a million years. You failed to obey an instruction from the cabin crew, because you didn’t like what you were told. In addition, I’m also not convinced that not handing out a cup of tea and a biscuit is saving a huge amount of cash for the airline, so it’s hardly them being “greedy”. Is the price you paid cheap, no. But, I’d say it’s reasonable for flying from a regional airport on a niche route than avoids travelling to a larger base. I also don’t get why people can’t manage to go for an hour without being fed and watered.

Just had the exact same sham of an eastern airways experience on ABZ WIC route today and yesterday. Plus cabin crew was worst I’ve ever encountered on any flight. My review should be up Sunday. Awful airline - the only carrier I would never set foot on again

Just goes to show it wasn't just me and they are truly a shambles of an airline. Link me your review when it's up, I'd be interested in seeing that!

The lads at Southampton call the J41 the angry wasp because of the sound lol. Nice video enjoyed it as we load them up in Southampton and its nice to see them in flight.

I can understand why! We at Southend used to have 2 Piaggio's based here and we called them Wasps!

I flew Manchester to Southampton a couple of weeks ago onboard one of their atr’s and they offered a buy on board menu at reasonable prices , shame about your experience but I found the 2 FA’s on my flight warm and friendly

Glad you had a good flight with them! Perhaps I just had poor crew on my flight.

Hopefully it was a one off experience for you with Eastern. All the best if you ever fly with them again.

Apparently not, multiple reviews online describing the same issue with them. I personally can't see them changing now, instead of welcoming flight reviewers to do their hobby (and in some cases job) in hope to get a good review they'd rather stop them altogether.

Haha! I flew on this exact aircraft yesterday.

Finally somebody mentions their electronic devices sham. Like Jet2, Eastern Airways still makes passengers power off their phones for takeoff. Their lack of online services is also very poor. They had a lot of opportunity to consume flybe old routes and they didnt. I doubt they'll be around for much longer.

You'll only see honest reviews on here ;) I didn't know that with Jet2, when I flew with them they were more than happy for me to continue filming. Eastern Airways however just felt like I was being watched the whole flight, trashy airline that has like you say missed some big opportunities.

You can’t operate an aircraft type like that with Ryanair fares. You only have 29 seats to spread the operating cost. All the eastern flights I’ve taken over the years have been far from at capacity. I wouldn’t imagine they’re profitable at all. Been on MAJB a few times to LBA

Nice trip report on a rare aircraft :) Shame about the flight attendant, I've had three American Airlines F/As get on my case about recording outside the window lol

Thanks for watching! I've heard AA can be a bit funny about filming. What is it with people getting so threatened by a camera these days!

They weren't obliged to give you the seat you asked for. You asked, they said no. There's no "despite" about it. Edit: If the cabin crew tell you to turn off your device, do it. The problem with this review is absolutely you, not them.

Eastern have never been known for good service. As each year passes I am surprised that they still exist tbh
@SOUTHENDAVIATION2 жыл бұрын
Given the costs of their flights for what they offer I'm surprised they're still going, although the fleet seems to be shrinking with the SAAB2000s and E170 leaving the fleet not long ago perhaps that's a sign they're struggling? I generally do hope they don't go under but given my experience I think it's possible they'll no longer be with us in years to come, hopefully I'm wrong! The resurrection of Flybe won't help Eastern either, no doubt Flybe will want their original popular routes back.

Well you where traveling on a local flying bus, therefore the aircraft would not have trained cabin crew onboard:)
