The A in the tail was designed in the 60’s(?) by Landor Associates. I believe they also created the logo and design for BA (crest with triangles on the tail). Always liked the Alitalia logo, very distinct and easily recognisable. Cheers.

Nice review, which brought back nice memories from my own exact same flight a few weeks ago after flying Alitalia from JFK. Unfortunately, I was sitting on the left side so I didn’t see the city - where I lived from 1969-1975 - on approach. I also visited Portofino by boat - but we only got to walk around for about an hour before having to head back. I used to fly the Genoa-Rome route on DC-9s back in the day. Nice vid! 👍

You can’t really say it was a lack of IFE because it’s a very short flight I’ve done Rome to la Metzia it’s about 45 and you don’t really need many snacks either

Flew them a while back on the a319 and a320. I can forgive no snacks and no entertainment easily on short flights, but the legroom is a disaster. Apparently it's better on the a321, but the smaller busses are litterally painful to fly.
