TRIP REPORT | easyJet A320 | Shame on Bordeaux! | Bordeaux to Barcelona

Easyjet trip report onboard an Airbus A320 from Bordeaux to Barcelona on a hot summer stormy afternoon.
The experience with EASYJET was PERFECT. The problem was with Bordeaux airport itself. It was the most disgusting terminal that I have ever visited: the Billi Terminal. What a shame place. Just check the video and you will understand why. I will avoid it at any cost in the future.

I don't know if this is the normal thing at the Billi terminal, but for what I spoke with other passengers, it's the usual behaviour. I won't be travelling from there ever again, that's for sure. Hope you've enjoyed the video! :)

It is not a big European city. This terminal is under works, this is why there is a lot of people. This is not the fault of the airport if everybody is pushing.

Una lástima cuando el pasaje es tratado así. Como dices, siempre hay alguien que puede pensar que es problema de las compañías que operan allí. Si quitan la información de la pantalla, sabes más por FlightRadar y otras aplicaciones que por ellos. Inaceptable! Bueno el servicio de bebidas, en el vuelo con turbulencias, dio tiempo a que llegase a tu fila 😄😄. La aproximación por esa ruta, y más viendo las imágenes que has grabado, siempre me traen a la memoria ( yo tenía 12años) el accidente de vuelo 1903 de DanAir 3 Julio 1970. En una noche sin visibilidad, chocó contra la montaña del Montseny por error de posición. Cambiando a mejor tema, las imágenes del vídeo, como siempre son fantásticas. Saludos desde Barcelona

For me as well! I've never seen such a thing like this in my more than 700 flights! This was worst than anything! As you may know, since you've been watching the channel for many years already, I always try to speak about the positive things of the aviation, trying to "hide" or at least minimize those worse aspects... but this was intolerable. I passed through the Billi terminal on 15th February 2020, before I'd seen this video, and found it to be the worst terminal I've ever been to, by a long way. For a start, it looks like the building works have not yet been completed; the construction materials look to be the cheapest and flimsiest possible. The check-in area is very limited and although there are many check-in desks there is not much queuing space for passengers. Passing through security, the unavoidable duty free shop and into the gate zone, there were three flights waiting to be called. Although it was winter and very cold outside, the terminal was crowded, stiflingly hot and every seat in all areas were taken, with many elderly people having nowhere to sit. The first flight was called and a mass of people began to queue at their gate, only then was there enough space to sit down. The next two flights were called more or less at the same time, one leaving the EU (my flight) and one short internal flight to Lyon. Passengers for both flights were made to queue through the same line causing a lot of crush and confusion, with the Lyon flight being directed through their own gate exit about half way along. The rest of us had to carry on until we went out through a passport control, up some stairs to a long divided corridor and wait for some time until we were let downstairs at the far end and out on to the tarmac to board the aircraft. I noticed that along this corridor, one half of which had been fenced off lengthways there were long nails sticking down through the corrugated metal ceiling all the way along. Because of the poor and cheap construction materials used, I started to wonder whether this corridor was really up to taking the weight of the 100 plus passengers and their hand baggage being forced to queue and wait along its entire length. If low cost carriers are responsible for such a completely shoddy building such as the Billi Terminal, they should be ashamed of themselves and be called to account for any future incidents or injuries which may occur as a result of such stinginess and low quality. There is no rhyme or reason, since airlines like Easyjet fly to many different countries, and in many of the airports they may share the same terminals as major full-service carriers. I've flown with Easyjet almost since Stelios first began the airline and there is nothing wrong with their service or prices, but the Billi terminal is an insult to their customers. Halls A & B at Bordeaux are ok, making such a terrible contrast when you arrive at one of these two terminals, which I did, then having to transition across to such a terrible dump for a connection.

Thank you for the excellent quality video. I have flown in and out of Merignac for twenty years - Bordeaux - Dublin. It is generally a good/ very good experience. There is a lot of development work underway at present and this probably impacts the overall efficiency of the Airport, in my view.

Typical "Low-Cost terminal". The experience you got was exactly as intended. These types of terminals are a new thing. These monstrosities have been built specifically for low cost carriers, following their specifications. Minimum building size, minimum personnel, minimum comfort, passengers pressed like cattle.... exactly as designed to make the costs as low as possible. You should definitely blame easyjet : they're the ones who choose this terminal. And the trend isn't going to go away since most regional french airports are building dedicated "low costs" extensions or wings in this style specifically to attract these low cost carriers.

What was up with Bourdeaux? My favorite airport in Europe is Copenhagen. It doesn’t look that inviting from the outside. However, once you have cleared security, You enter a shopping mall with lots of stores and restaurants. That is pretty awesome! Looked like a nice flight, though.

Very good video again, as expected! After watching I immediately had fun to book a flight after a 2 months break. But I expect that this will be difficult in the near future here in Germany. Because the german government - like many, many people from the german population - is in an madness and hysterical status debate of the world cimate. And they wanted to substantially increase taxes on flights from here. Generally taxes will be increased here or newer ones are on the way. Expensive living here. And there is more in the approach.

I flew from Bordeaux to Barcelona on Vueling back in Dec 2016. The baggage drop-in counters didn't open till about 50 mins before departure. But now that I see this...it could have been much worse!

Hi Lucas. How did they manage to keep the passengers for the flight you were on outside, while other passengers were inside. . What about the passengers for other flights ? And surely the terminal operators want the passengers inside spending money in the shops not outside. What if it was raining? Totally unacceptable. The over weight bags was crazy as well. Easyjet were having a great day there. That was a lot of passengers caught. And that looked like pretty bad pr for the airline. These easyjet and ryanairs are not low fare airlines . With all the extras they charge they work out just as dear as legacy carriers. Anyway you had a bumpy start through the terminal and what looked like a bumpy flight as well. I'd say when you saw the queue at the terminal you were sorry you didn't go by train 🙂 ? Great views ... Cheers, g..

It was just in this terminal, the rest of the airport was normal, like any other. They were 3 people at the main entrance of the terminal calling for flights. It was ridiculous, but 100% real. The bags thing is just another show of how people want to fly: without following the rules. All those ones are who later on will be complaining because the airline made them check the bag at the door and charged them an extra fee. Hahaha About the train, no, I still prefer the plane, even in this conditions haha Greetings mate! :)

This Billi terminal is somehow horrible...was there A/C? The passengers wearing layers of clothes just not to pay extra cost ...they should try to fly lighter ...All filled with your phone, wow great work..

I have to say I flew from Bordeaux to London Gatwick last week and Billi terminal experience was ridiculous! It was humid, cramped and 4 members of staff at the airport pointed us in 4 different directions! We saw the “Billi” arrow on the floor but assumed it might be a Rent-A-Car company or a bus company rather than a whole different terminal! Sounds like a silly mistake but without proper signage it was quite tough 😢

Primera vez que veo que un aeropuerto de un país europeo tiene tan mal trato hacia los pasajeros!!!! Lo mismo digo. He visitado unos 100 aeropuerto en Europa y jamás había visto una cosa tan desastrosa. Lamentable. Penosa. El tema no es los desastre naturales que puedan afectar a aeropuertos y demás (que en España todos los aeropuerto son 100 veces mejor que esta basura de terminal). Lo grabe es que esta terminal de Burdeos es así de serie, es decir, sin que nada le haya afectado. Lamentable.

No, no, sir! I've been in Budapest airport many times that's completely false! Budapest terminal doesn't have anything compared with this rubbish! In Budapest, you board through the main terminal, and then you go, once the flight is ready to board, through covered aisles and the waiting place, though it's ugly, it's warm and closed. Nobody stops you from entering the terminal. Greetings!

Lucas! I've got a question (again :P) for you! And before that, that Bordeaux terminal was terrible. Delete the flight from the screen due to delay instead of writing it out it is delayed. If somebody fly on that plane, and that flight was his/her first flight, I would been idk. Maybe could thought the flight is deleted. So, in overall: TERRIBLE. So the question: It's not to hard so see it, you always flying next to the window. A or F seat. So, what I can think about that is MAYBE you make only flight reports if you are sitting next to window, or you pay always for choosing seat for every flight? Or you have some tactic for it? :P Thank you for your answer!

Oh my God😱 I was in BOD 4 weeks ago and flew with FR from the Main Terminal to CGN. Very modern but the Food options were also very poor after Security 😢 Billi Terminal...puuuh.....what a shame! Never heard before that you've no entry before check-in has started...and this in the high summer season, what a crazy BOD staff🤮👎 Nevertheless EZY/EJU is a GREAT Airline with many flights from it's HUB BOD also in winter season and an "own" terminal is normally not a bad thing! BTW...BUD T2 is (WAS!) not really better 😜

Thanks so much, mate! :) No, no! Budapest terminal doesn't have anything compared with this rubbish! In Budapest, you board through the main terminal, and then you go, once the flight is ready to board, through covered aisles and the waiting place, though it's ugly, it's warm and closed. Nobody stops you from entering the terminal. I've never been in Schoenefeld as a passenger so I can't make an opinion about it, but I would bet it's far better than this Billi Terminal in Bordeaux. But what I meant is that they also have the website called “myFlightradar24”, which allows you to log your flights and keep them as a map and list and even giving you many different statistics in regards of your travel history. Mine looks like this: my.flightradar24.com/SXFflyer (I had far less flights than you tho). Would take ages tho to log over 700 flights now hahaha. Thanks, I’m excited to go to Milan (TXL-MXP on Ryanair), the first international trip with my boyfriend haha.

La terminal Billi de Burdeos (la que aparece en este vídeo) es, de largo, la peor terminal que he visto en todos mis viajes /y calculo haber visitado unos 100 aeropuertos, de todos los tipos y tamaños). Ya he visitado Berlín Tegel, de hecho subí un par de de vídeos hace unos meses. No estaba mal. A qué aeropuerto de refieres? saludos!

Un retraso de 1h no es nada. Puede deberse a muchas causas. La aviación no es un transporte cualquiera. La seguridad es siempre el objetico basico. A veces hay que retrasar el vuelo para cumplir con dicho objetivo 👍

@@OnBoardHD Terminal 2 or MP2 is Marseille's low-cost airline terminal. Pretty crappy indeed with very long queues. And with Ryanair, when you pass the boarding gate, you are packed with all passengers of your plane in a small corridor waiting for the boarding to complete, then only you can take a shuttle to go to the plane... I highly recommend to consider paying the priority boarding fee in that hell of a terminal. Though, Marseille's main terminal is very nice as opposite to MP2.

They probably keep the passengers outside as long as they can exactly because the terminal is already crowded as it is and would be unmanageable otherwise. Of course, that's no excuse. That's a sign of bad planning. A Third World country could perhaps have the excuse of lack of financial resources for improvement, but that's France. Unforgivable! I wonder how it is when it's winter and snowing!

Easy. Bordeaux has sustained a massive increase of its population due to an economical renewal in the region. So the airport will be expanded all the way till 2024 (it's even written outside of all terminals, but until then they have to set up and run a temporary terminal, terminal billy.

My own experience of flying in and out of French airports on low-coast airlines has not been very good, but Bordeaux is by far the worst. The Billi terminal is just awful. Compared with many other EU airports I've flown to and from, I find staff in French airports, generally speaking, to be rather lacking in good customer service skills.

In fact, the bad part of this flight wasn't related, at all, wity Easyjet, but with the awful Billi Terminal of Bordeaux airport. Abot those pax that were trying to close the lugage... of course I agree with you. There are aleways some of them think they can have all services at any price.
