Yes I agree with you about the catering on not just Emirates, but Qatar too, since covid, yes everything has changed, not just the catering but the cabin crew too, not as good as it use to be (what do you think?) but a sign of the times I guess ?

Thank you for sharing your interesting trip to Joburg. I also like flying with Emirates. The last time I used Emirates was on a vacation flight in business class from Zurich to Malé/Maldives via Dubai with A380 (6 hours) and B777 (5 hours). Emirates provided an exceptionally good service and the flight times were punctual. Recommended at any time.😁

Have been wondering if Emirates kind of quality grade's their food depending on wheather "one" fly's too?,like for example the African flight routes could be a grade (B) status rating re catering &.,say on the other hand Dubai to say London could be graded with a (A) status rating with better food option's. The flight and service were good But the problem is that people always have very hight expectations on airlines likes Emirates, Qatar or Singapore that are the best airlines in the world, so even when they are good sometimes we don't get satisfied. About the business class configuration is really not the most updated but all big airlines have this problem they have on super update configuration that they use in their marketing and take time to update all the plenes.Airfrance today has three or four Business configuration for their triple 777

Business class has a 2-3-2 seat configuration? That is outdated. No modern widebody aircraft has anything more than a 2-2-2 configuration in business class, middle seats of any kind are no more. The economy seats are 3-4-3 like a 747 economy. 777s and 747s are very similar in most ways except that on the 777 there's no upper deck and there are 2 engines instead of 4 (the 2 aircrafts are just as powerful as each other though because one 777 engine is equal power to two 747 engines)
