@alestra10219 ай бұрын
@@maxkaiser4995 I also noticed that but i think thats stupid. NUE-MUC was also dismissed and replaced by busses, mostly because theres no high speed rail to MUC Airport. I dont think these STR-FRA flights make any sense. I mean you can book Longhaul starting in STR with a ICE train to FRA included, so if the train is late you get refunded/rebooked, its not your fault anymore if youre delayed

Stuttgart Airport is very well known to me - I went very often this ways, too! I know every part of the walk from my own ones. You come in with the S-Bahn via the "Bopser" and "Weinsteige" => the little Mountains or high Hills which are surrounding the City of Stuttgart, where the Central Station is about in the middle - since years and for years to come a huge Construction Site. At some seldom occasions I flew to Munich, too, but mostly I flew with Eurowings to and from Hamburg (Work in Stuttgart, Living nearby Hamburg). At the few occasions when I took this flight I took then the Connecting Lufthansa Flight from Munich to Hamburg - so, yeah, people will use this flight most probably not to visit Munich itself. The route Stuttgart - Munich is usually flown by CRJ-900 from Lufthansa Cityline. And they park always at remote places! Always!😃 Thank you very much for this very nice Trip Report!🙂👍

the flight is short, but with the commute to the airport, check-in, showing up some time before departure, security check, boarding, and again de-boarding, going through the airport and commuting into the city in Munich, I guess you didn't safe any time by taking the plane

You can see on the bag tag that the guy had a connecting flight from Munich to Copenhagen. Just like he said at the beginning of the video: The main purpose of that route is to feed into LH's huge hub in Munich, it's not for people traveling from Stuttgart just to Munich.
@EnjoyFirefighting3 ай бұрын
@@heikozysk233 which is probably why every major airport shall be connected to long distance and high-speed rail service in the future, which definetly includes Munich Intl. Airport. That would make such short feeder flights unnecessary

For the same route with Deutsche Bahn you would pay 30,00€ you would arrive in 2h and your CO2 Emission foodstep would much more less than with an AIrcraft. That's something people can definitely debate. In Salzburg, some time ago, the feeder flight to Vienna was replaced by a train connection, and that works quite well. However, the railway must be reliable, and ideally, the airport should be well-connected to long-distance trains. Neither of these is the case in Munich. Just the endlessly long and awful S-Bahn connection from Munich to the airport puts me off.
@NgKhTh9 ай бұрын
