After 3 flights taking me all the way from Los Angeles to Kona, I took one last flight on Hawaiian’s Airbus A321neo. Hawaiian usually operates their inter-island flights on Boeing 717-200s however recently they have also been operating the Airbus A321neo. I have flown both Hawaiians A321 Neo and the A330. I love both planes but the only thing I like more about the A321 is the fact that they don’t have the screens on the seat backs. What I don’t like about the A330 is the crew asks you to close your windows for the entire flight so people can see the screens, meaning the jet is basically just a dark tube for the many hours you are flying, but I do understand that only a certain amount of people are able to look out the window.

That depends on the flight crew and time of day. But the FAA requires the shades to be open on take off and landing to help your eyes adjust better in case of a crash and you needed to get off the plane.

Is there a difference between an Airbus 321 and an Airbus 321neo? My Hawaiian airlines flight says it’s an Airbus 321, so I was just curious

Your flight will be on an A321neo. Hawaiian just doesn’t list it as a neo when looking at flights on their website for some reason.
