TRIP REPORT | I Flew a Brand-New Plane! | Wizz A321Neo | Vienna to Mallorca

Wizzair Trip Report flying from Vienna to Mallorca onboard one of the new Wizzair A321Neo on a lovely summer morning. Actually, it was the very first commercial flight with passengers of this Wizz A321Neo, being this the first time in my life that happens to me!
To be honest, it was not a very comfortable flight onboard the Wizzair A321Neo from Vienna to Mallorca. The A321Neo was certificated for a max load of 240 passengers. Wizzair decided to fit 239 seats on their A321Neo.
The result of this extreme max density cabin configuration is that the legroom is just ridiculous. There is no way to fit in there. This flight was almost fully booked, so every row was full of pax. It was one of the most uncomfortable flights in my life. Is this the worst legroom in Europe? It could be... I would like to know your experiences...
The crew, however, was fantastic and the plane itself is great. The huge engines fit perfectly on the A321Neo. With some more extra legroom, the experience would go from poor/terrible to very nice. I guess this is the most profitable option for the airline, but definitely not the most comfortable for the passengers. Actually, it's not just "not the most comfortable" but the worst possible.

Another great vlog very informative as usual.I have just flown Wizz for the first time last month and had four flights with them. People told me that they were vert good and now I see why ! All flights were great and crews very good .The leg space is tight but I've seen much worse on some other flag carriers but with much steeper fares than Wizz charges. Great Job Wizz keep it going 👍.

Me encanta esta nueva generación de motores que usa el A320 Neo!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed your review, and agree with all that you say. The trouble is Wizz Air is a low cost operator, and they need to get as many passengers on board as possible ! The A321 neo is a fine aircraft, and the take-off was superb ! Many thanks.

I love wizz, i feel comfortable with them, great service and pilots, leg space... Okk....Perhaps this is the only negative, but it does not spoil the quality of the flight. Great video, love to travel with you, спасибо

For me, it spoils it on the A321Neo. The legroom in this version is extremely terrible. On the old A320 and A321 the legroom was never great, but it was acceptable. On the A321Neo is just non-existent... I can't imagine the how the passengers arrive after 6-7 hours flights to Abu Dhabi, for example...

Great report! Love the PW engines on these NEOs I must say! The newest aircraft I've ever flown was a 23 day old Boeing 737 MAX with LOT :)

Nice review as always! I flew with on Wizz Air A321neo (HA-LVC) from Budapest to Madrid and back in July 2019. I personally didn't find issues, crew was great, the aircraft (at the time only 2 months old) is cool, the seats are comfortable. The legroom didn't really annoy me as I'm not that tall, but a Reykjavik-Budapest flight would be painful even for me. Wizz Air will always be the cheap option, and definitely not the most comfortable. In conclusion it was a good flight, definitely worth the price.

wonderful video Lucas.nice to see you flying in a totally brand new jet.As a matter of fact I have flown once in a plane its 1st time commercial flight.It was in 1987 when I flew from Rome to Athens in an Alitalia A320.They had given us a souvenir card for this event.they were large back then.I think that I will not fly with Wizzair ever because of the legroom.I am 1.90 my friend.no way to fit in there.Profit is above passenger's comfort.See you on the next.Cheers

Thanks, Yannis! :) Nice! In this case, as you can see, there were no souvenirs or any other thing. I guess low-cost airlines are so used to buying new planes that this is something usual :D With 1.90, if you fly Wizz, be sure to book an emergency exit or you will have the worst flight in years. Buen vídeo , la parte que mas me ha gustado sin duda ha sido en la aproximación a Mallorca, esas bellas imágenes que has captado del velero y del Mediterráneo son preciosas y también las vistas de dicha ciudad. Lo que menos no entiendo como siendo un avión nuevo tengan ese espacio para los pasajeros tan irrisorio por lo demás esa compañía me gusta su librea y el interior de cabina pero como he dicho eso es un aspecto a mejorar y los asientos podían ser un poco más mullidos . Muchas gracias, Rafa :) La aproximación a Mallorca coincido en que fue muy bonita. Además, no es la pista más habitual. Lo normal es aterrizar exactamente en el otro sentido, sin volar a baja altitud sobre el mar. El sábado volamos con Aegean a Atenas. Y la próxima semana viene muy fuerte: 3 vídeos, incluyendo el A380 de Emirates! :)

Initial climb ends at acceleration altitude, which in this case is thrust reduction altitude, at which cleaning up the aircraft according to schedule takes place

When I flew with the A321Neo I loved everything about it, except the seats, I feel like they're worse than the seats on the older planes, after a 2h flight from BUD to DSA my back was killing me. That's just my opinion tho. Great video as usual!

I flew Wizzair from Eindhoven (NL) to Wrocław in Poland, ticket coats were around 50€. Flight was good, steady and on time. On such a short flight I don’t need anything, just my water and something to read so I didn’t buy anything. I am 1.75m and for me the legroom was just enough. I would definitely fly with them again

Agree with legroom, it is truly terrible, but considering hops around Europe on 2 hours flights, it does not really matter. You get modern fleet and super cheap fares.

Hola, me gustaría ver reportes de otras aerolíneas que no sean las low cost Europeas. Creo que a excepción del american el resto son bastantes repetidas. Como seguidor tengo que decirlo o decirle a tus compañeros que vayan a probar aerolíneas de asia o África como otros trip reporters (imaginando que sois varios ya que en Twitter te refieres en plural)
