This is why it is important for people to choose to do something that the passionately love over money. I do what I love and it feels natural, like a hobby. And when you enjoy your job everyone else around you is happy. It’s a circle of positivity. But hate your job, do it with dislike and others around you will be frustrated. So yes, good on Chuck for choosing a job that he is passionate about. 10’s across the board!

Thank you for sharing your flight here. I loved flying in this cabin seating that you were in here. Yes, the 757-300s came from the merger with Continental Airlines. United mainly had the 757-200s and those are very nice work horses. I have flown the 757-200s to Hawaii from LAX and I have loved the First-Class seating on those flights. Also, United was doing the "PS" Service on the 757s with a three-class cabin on their trans con flights. some years ago. Now a days, the two section Polaris Class/First/Business Class section is used on their flights and they are very nice. I love the 757s and they will be missed when the airlines decide to retire them but for right now, the airlines still have them flying some great routes.

Fellow Avgeek here. I loved the comments at the bottom. Also, to find out about the cutback power to thrust climb. Then the slow cruise at 4K to avoid landing flights. I have pondered that for many years. I too love the 757 and changed my last homebound trip from HNL to fly 757 via SFO-IAH. I was disappointed at the thrust setting the pilot used in HNL, I wanted a rocket take off but he just coasted up into the air. Guess to save fuel and wear and tear on the engines. i would love to land and take-off in the 757 in Aspen.

Boeing should have continued to develop and improve this aircrft with new engines and better fuel efficiency, They did'nt do and as result will lose market share to Airbus with the A321 NEO/ LR and LXR, these are the only options available to airlines for replacing the ageing 757...

@@KingSosa97it’s those long and thin routes along with versatility to do shorter or medium length domestic flights where the demand is. Having the long and thin capability is critical to serving numerous destinations efficiently, notably on the pond hoppers. The 737 can’t quite pull that off as it was designed in the 1960s for shorter distances and small loads. Boeing just needed an answer in the 200-seater market but doesn’t have one. Love your positive attitude, and your camera work and editing is second to none. But the Vickers VC10 was a single aisle airliner that had the 757 beat before the 757 was even a sketch on the back of a napkin. Hot and high performance: check. Transatlantic range: check. Where it beat the 757 was the greaser landings and how it rode chop. And if you were in First it was quieter because the engines were at the back. Of course accountants absolutely hated it, but they also much prefer a 739ER to a 752 so their views don't count. Keep up the great work.

What a great video 👍. Brings back memory of an AA flight I took about 25 years ago from Tampa to Miami. Usually an ATR 72, the equipment change was a 757. The 757 had its spoiler up for most of the 35 minute flight. I also respectfully disagree with the 757 being the greatest single aisle aircraft. That title goes to 707/720. The regular spooling up of those low bypass JT3D engine during taxi was heavenly. Just the sound alone during the takeoff roll added 20 knots to the experience. 😀 Cant wait for your next upload

I missed the chance to fly on one of these birds just a few days ago. UA recently reintroduced its DXB service (I'm just down E11, right by AUH) but changed it to an earlier departure time out of EWR to where I was uncomfortable with the amount of time left to make the connection from the 757s arrival time, what, with the state of air travel in the US right now. It reminds you what an iconic manufacturer Boeing used to be before they merged with Mcdonell Douglas which resulted in less quality and cuts everywhere. 18:07 as an Iranian who traveled there often, Iranian pilots are also extremely good at landings. But for a good reasons, due to the sanctions every airworthy plane is valuable. So they treat everyone of them very carefully.

The Boeing 757-300 is the largest and longest single-aisle aircraft anyone has flown on. Named the "flying pencil", It has 2 engine options; The Rolls Royce RB211 turbofan jet engines or the Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines. Both of these engines make the Boeing 757-300 very vibrant during taxiing, takeoff and landing, and even when it's taxiing to the gate. During takeoff the sound of these 2 engines are awesome and classic, like they're even roaring like a lion. It has a range of 6,287 km, while the Boeing 757-300ER has a range of a whopping 11,287 km; making it the second-longest flying aircraft in the Boeing 757 family, and the second-longest flying single-aisle aircraft anyone has flown on. He says "american in his experience are the best kissers on landings and they also use full reverse thrust a lot vs the rest" thats because he doesnt fly with Ryanair 😔😏

@@TheLayoverAviation From my experience they always provide a smooth ride and landing but yea its been commonly made standard they cant land properly, I mean I like to do planespotting and believe me I see them do better landings than other manjor airlines or at least here in Madrid.

Was Chuck an “engineer” as you say, or was he an A&P mechanic? Mechanics are not engineers. I am a 35 year A&P mechanic, and I am not a college educated engineer. If you (wrongly) call mechanics engineers, then what do you call college educated and credentialed people who have engineering degrees?

@@TheLayoverAviation Fantastic video! I certainly want to fly a Boeing 757, however i think there are none in Asia. I have also never seen a passenger 757 physically. What is there for the next video?
