For this video I took regional service, operated by 3rd generation of Škoda RegioPanter EMU (Electric Multiple Unit). These units newly entered service in December 2021. These new units are operated by ČD exclusively for Pilsen Region (Plzeňský kraj).

RegioPantery přinesly do příměstské dopravy kvalitu německého S-bahnu.Pořád je co dohánět, ale považuji tyto jednotky za veliký kvalitativní skok dopředu a za skutečného duchovního nástupce legendárních žabotlamů.

Nepřijde mi v žádném případě, že by německé příměstské jednotky byly nějaký vzor, natož nedostižný. Naopak. Například absence středových područek v některých německých jednotkách je hodně nepříjemná, po pár minutách nevíte, kam s rukama, špatná ergonomie sedaček, navíc jsou ve většině případů úzké a místa na nohy taky moc není. Myslím, že Regio Pantery většinu německých jednotek předčí.

Very nice looking train inside and out. Looks exceptionally clean inside which is a big +. I would say the stop request might be more efficient especially at night if at a station the passenger waiting could activate a light that would blink on and off or just stay on, so that the train driver would be able to prepare for the stop a little more in advance. As usual, thanks for taking me along I enjoyed the ride.

Thanks for watching! The driver usually slowed down before request stops so that he could possibly stop when someone stood there. But I'm not sure how it works in the night.

@@PeteBrandy They usually pass really slowly (at maybe 20-30km/h) Sadly there isn't much of a better option, because most of these stations don't have any staff, and thus the train driver has to depend on himself to see whether someone's at the station

What an excellent regional train, lots of thought gone into the inside and it looks well designed too! it does seem quite loud tho! I bet the request button push has caused confusion many times before and people missing their stop 😂

These RegioPanter units are excellent, compared to previous generations. Noise is not so much heard, the microphone picks up these frequencies more sensitively. Yes, sometimes happens that people forget to press the button and miss their stop :-D

Thanks for showing us this regional trip. Brand new rolling stock is always exciting and I like the idea of regional colour schemes. I am glad you pointed out that it is not as noisy as it sounds in the video - I initially thought it must drive the passengers crazy!

Thanks so much Linda :-) This train is one of the other novelties on the Czech railway network. Yes, the electric sound of the engines wasn't so noisy (only my microphone is a bit more sensitive), so I mentioned it :-)

Ahoj Pete. Nice trip as always. Thanks for sharing. I have never seen any of these units on my own, however some were imported to Slovakia too. It looks like a pretty standard for nowadays. I like the clean interior. There are many Škoda train sounds. This one is impressive, however my favourite is still the Ace alike pulse sound. (When I was younger as a railway modeller once I tried to make a pulse wide modulated supply for my locos and have found out, that at some frequencies I got an Ace or the boxy Tatra trams sound. My father got upset, because I stole, no, I forget to ask for, his paired Darlington transistors, very expensive at the time... and I made the Christmas tree crazy-go-round carpet railways too loud😁) Memories, these never will fade out.😎

Thaks so much! This sound is nice. But pulse regulation sound of "Eso" locomotives can be annoying to listen for a long time (I really admire the drivers of these locomotives).. But your model railway had to be interesting with this sound :-)

@@PeteBrandy Yes, of course, to be in the cab for a long ride and listening to... I will kill the thyristors out of the rectifier...😎 However, the tones are C1, c and e¹, but not that enjoyable in the distorted waveform, but due to these frequencies, the circuit is not that difficult (the model), the capacitors, f.e. have to be 10мF, 25мF and 100мF, the most available range. Nowadays no time for experiments, I have my good ol' Piko FZ1.

Ta první třída mě docela překvapila. Přitom třeba u Sp Plzeň - Cheb - Karlovy Vary s prakticky identickými soupravami se tak opravdu používá.

Ve smlouvě na tuto linku je, že objednatel nepožaduje 1. třídu, ale požaduje zřízení tichého oddílu, takže se využila jednička na tichý oddíl. Na Sp je myslím 1. třída požadovaná.

Az budou jednotky Moravia (jednotky rady 530/550 ktere jsou prakticky totozne s RegioPantery az na to, ze jezdi jen na stridave napeti) zarazeny do provozu, tak je prosim taky natoc. Moc me zajima, jak to v nich vypada :D

Cześć Piotrek! Thanks so much! Yes, also regional government didn't order the 1st class on this route, but they requested silent zone, so the carrier rebranded it. Yes, many facing seats, I also prefer airline style seating. Most regards! :-)

Thanks, Pete! So there, I sincerely loved your video. I really liked the "on-demand" system, it made me laugh. Moreover, it is written in French: "arrêt à la demande". I like them: "arrêt à la demande". But I do not understand one thing, since you buy your train ticket and I hope that is the case for everyone, the train conductor in this case knows where he must to stop or not. Since the ticket is bought, you know if you should stop. Because imagine that a small parker like me, during a pedestrian crossing, presses the button to turn a widely used road to red when he is not crossing, something I do moreover regularly. I like to see cars go fast having to stop for nothing, piss them off in the middle of a red light. It's the same here, we can have fun making the train stop when no one gets off and the driver does not know who pressed, something that will annoy him and that I love to watch the stations . Otherwise, you filmed very well. The entrance to the final station is magnificent, the station is majestic. In addition, I see that the number of subscribers is increasing enormously, I am happy for you and for me. A big thank you to you. A big thank you to you.

The button is also important because many passengers on regional routes do not buy tickets, but they have prepaid travel cards that are valid for journeys throughout the region. @@PeteBrandy Ah okay, I understand now. It's like a paid card for a month with unlimited travel. A monthly subscription with a single price or do you top up your travel card every time? And you have this card. In fact, this system is not bad when a train passes through small stations with little traffic, instead of stopping all the time, it only stops when it is necessary and it is more profitable for the travelers and for the train company who keep the station open. I am from Marseille. Ok ok.

@@louislegrand2865 It's usually possible to subscribe to a card for a month, quarter or year. But each region may have different conditions. I have a subscription card for the Prague area. And I also have a card from Czech Railways and there I have purchased a subscription for upgrading to 1st class for trains all over the country.

In my village, train is going very slowly, thre is mostly someone waiting in station and there is no button at station so driver must watch carefuly if someone is staying there. If you are in train and you want to leave, you have to press button or it doesn't stop there, but someone mostly press it when you forget. When they send old train with no buttons, it stops everywhere automaticaly. We use not only tickets from train company (from place A to place B), but even zone tickets valid for specific zones and time, so system that driver knows you are leaving in that station would not work.

Bych i měl RegioPantery raději než InterPantery, nebýt toho, že vůbec nemají oddělený nástupní prostor od ostatního prostoru pro cestující. V blízkosti dveří ani klimatizace nepomůže. Druhou chybou RegioPanterů (kterou ale sdílejí s InterPantery - alespoň u starších verzí to tak je) je nemožnost stažení rolety u okna, kde je umístěn panel "vnějšího informačního systému" - protože tomu ten panel brání.

Trošku nechápu ten tichý oddíl, zvenku je napsaná 1. třída a zevnitř 2. + tichý oddíl. Předpokládám, že to třeba někdy předělají na 1. třídu.

Tady je to kvůli tomu, že kraj ve smlouvě uvedl, že nepožaduje 1. třídu, ale chce zřízení tichého oddílu. Myslím, že zvenku to zůstalo, aby se případně daly soupravy použít i na Sp Plzeň - Karlovy Vary.

The sound was not heard so much, the microphone picks up it more sensitively. Otherwise, the sound wasn't annoying at all.
