the reason why the second meal is not a full meal is becaus of the flight time. It is more like a snack than a real breakfast. Compared to other airlines with that flight time SQ still delivers a quite complete meal. My flight with Emirates from SG to Melb was even less and the service was horrible. I think most of the time SQ has instant noodles as option, so next time when you were more hungry than what they served you you can always ask for them to prepare that as your hot meal:)

The full breakfast for the flight under 8 hrs is now sadly no longer the case even with this great airlines due to cost cutting.

Just to let you know they served continental breakfast not full breakfast which is just some bread and coffee, tea for Australia flight or flight time below 8 hours. It will b one full meal and one light meal or hot snack.

On the way back they served 2 full hot meals on the same route. Maybe the flight time is a bit longer in that direction though.

Regarding the breakfast I agree. I flew this exact route not too long ago and it was much better, so I would almost guess they had a catering problem and had to improvise. With Singapore Airlines you usually get a better choice than this.

Nice seat and IFE. Dinner was ok for economy, you can get better. However the breakfast is poor, hope you would get some hot food, like an omelet, at least. Great video!

Thanks for once again a fantastic trip report! Regarding breakfast: Keep in mind it's just below 8 hours. Thus two full meals might have been available on slightly longer flights. Still: I also find it ... leaves some room for improvement.

Hi just on this same note, I flew from Singapore to Fiji (my home country) on Fiji Airways (FJ360) a few weeks back and the flight lasted 10 hours. They will serve the first meal after 1.5 hours and the second meal comes two hours before the flight lands. So it's basically dependant totally on the flight time whether you get one or two meals.

What a fantastic video! Concise and to the point. Hope you could share more cabin footage in the future! Also regarding the breakfast: I myself take SQ 221 quite regularly and found the breakfast quite disappointing!

Thank you! Usually I show more cabin footage but in this case my seat was far in the front and it was pretty dark... The breakfast was not 5* Singapore Airlines as we know it...

It amazes me how such a large aircraft can have such tight seating especially for 8 hrs. It’s not business or first class but for what one pays in general there should be a little more room.

Wirklich? Ich fand das Frühstück echt enttäuschend, gerade auf so einem langen Flug. Hatte schon besseres mit SQ und anderen Airlines... Aber der Rest vom Service war natürlich klasse - inklusive dem Singapore Sling - nehme ich jedes mal ;)

Thanks for a great video.That last shot of A380s of QF (3) SQ and KE ( summer only) was terrific. SQ and QF treat the red eye flights back to Aus as regional not long hall. Hence the lousy breakfast.

Because people are told it is different when it is not it is the same old thing crammed in like sardines whether it is a A380 or a 737 you still only get 30 to 32 ins of leg room.

I also think the breakfast was disappointing, especially for such a long flight. Ive flown premium economy recently and the food is pretty much the same. I feel like no hot option for breakfast is disappointing.
