I flew LAX- TPE in economy early this year. It was my best experience over Pacific on an economy seat. Seat was very comfortable, even better than EVA’s economy seat on its latest 787-10. We connected in TPE and onto Danang. We did not feel exhausted after arrival in Vietnam. Cudo to Starlux and Airbus 350!

Out of curiosity, how tall are you? I'm 6'2 and usually I feel cramped. I'm considering this airline. I had never heard of it till today, but I have to go from Seattle to Taipei.

@@marks2517 I am 5’7”. Not sure this will fit a 6’2”comfortably for an economy seat of this or any airlines. But if you are willing to spend a couple hundreds more, you can get the first row seat behind the bulk head or W.C. on Starlux. Those seats offer ample leg room for even a 7 footer. Good luck!

Starlux economy seating has unlimited free texting service. I was able to stay connected with friends/families which was great.

JX isn't the only airline in Taiwan offering Bluetooth connectivity. CI's A321neo also has Bluetooth and 4K displays. (I love that feature too!)

I appreciated your honest review. While my wife and I are looking forward to our upcoming SFO-TPE flight, the $40 fee for advance seat selection is a bit of a bummer, unless we wait till 48 hours before departure to choose our seats.

Great video! Now I really want to fly with Starlux. The only factor that makes this flight "less attractive" than Singapore Airlines is the absence of hot towel prior to every meal & ice cream after the first meal.

Bigger windows, all windows have had the dim feature from the start, not hard to see when window is fully dark, Boeing made, nicer wing flex, nicer look, anti turbulence technology and anti jet lag features

@@TheTripReporter I prefer traditional windows shade rather than those dim windows on both 787 or A350, especially is truly annoying when the flight attendant locked the dim function. In economy class, modern 787 were so cramped because the same 9 abreast seating as A350, but the 787 got narrower seat width! of course the most important in every flight is the meals services, more meals = better. I always hungry 😬 😋😋

Based on your review, I'm really looking forward to taking this new airline. I just booked a flight from LAX to Taipei and I connected my flight to my Alaskan Airline mileage instead of the Starlux mileage program. Like you, I could not select the seat I would like. There are seats in the forward part of the economy section that cost $160 more but halve more eg room. In the review you said you had to call to reserve your seat. Did you call Starlux for Alaskan Airlines?

My trip originated from the Philippines so I emailed their Philippines customer service asking for a seat and they got back to me fast, for Alaska I used my Alaska reservation code and was able to select seats from there

Flew recently on starlux from lax to taipei. Didn't care for it. Don't Haye me for saying this but I paid for the upgraded seat and extra legroom and such. I found the seats to be uncomfortable and the service to be rushed and bothered when asking for assistance. Food was nothing great as well. Just my experience

Long haul flight and the meal service didn't really impress. I've heard the food on Starlux Air was suppose to be great? Qatar, you still have my loyalty.

October 2 my 4th time LAX-TPE-LAX Business Class Starlux since Inauguration last year. enjoy JX Business Class amenities all great products except wifi connection wireless charge and limited movies choice. JX Business class Air fare definitely little more expensive compared with CI and BR nevertheless im continues choose JX for transpacific Business Class over CX CI and BR .

Entertainment: The more the better.. this reaction is like a spoiled person who wants more even though he doesn’t really need it. What for ?? IDK…. Most of the time you barely have time to watch all entertainment videos and or listen music bcz at some point you fall asleep. And why asking crew to unlock the dim system ??? Are you alone on board?? Do you think of others ?? Despite this hard product looks quite interesting and thoughtful….

Those simply are my thoughts on the entertainment offerings. And, If I pay for a window I expect to be allowed to look outside the window. My window my choice unless the crew tells me to close it a few hours after departing or a few hours before landing. They should have turned the lock off a few hours earlier and not when there was under an hour left until landing/me having to ask
