I got a UNITED red eye flight (SEA - ORD) coming up at the end of this month on the A320 & chose the same exact seat (29F).

Why did you depart runway 30 since CHS is to the south?

Aircraft always depart the runway with the best headwind. In the airlines, pilots are assigned a special departure route for traffic separation and organization. These connect to the many different airways that get them to their destination. Even if they depart the opposite way, they'll start turning around as soon as possible on their assigned routes.

Did you check in a bag? Was United Airlines strict with the checked bag weight> Did you get away with 52-53 pounds

I don’t check bags. I fit everything I need into one carry-on. You will, however, be charged if your bag is overweight by any amount.
