Those huge red and white cranes, visible at takeoff ( 10.00) were built in Kerry and Cork and shipped fully assembled all the way across the Atlantic. Mad stuff.

@@tryan7 : I couldn't agree more. Their staff are absolute shit and shouldn't be representing any airline but that's unions for ya. I few from Dublin to Chicago on the worst aircraft I have ever flown on. Nothing worked, not the Wifi, the TV and the seat was broken and didn't recline. Thankfully I was able to move and find a seat that actually reclined. The truth is British Airways would not allow an aircraft in that condition off the ground but that's shitty Aer Lingus for you. Oh and they didn't even serve coffee or tea on the fight, you got water. An awful experience which I hope never to repeat.

I fly Aer Lingus regularly between London Heathrow and Chicago via Dublin (A321neo and A330-300 for this last trip). The lowest prices and the ease of Dublin’s USA pre-clearance make it worth the added time for transfer. Dublin Terminal 2 can get extremely busy and over-crowded in the middle of the day when all of the North American flights are departing but I’m used to it.
@TheVleckChannel
@TheVleckChannel Жыл бұрын
Same here. I now insist on going through Dublin on trips to the USA. It's much better to deal with the TSA after a one hour flight than the full 8 hours. Also, I got pulled into secondary processing on my last trip, and made me think that if I was going to be refused entry for any reason, better in Dublin than to get across the Atlantic only to be turned back.

I flew Aer Lingus from BOS-DUB-BER, then MUC-DUB-BOS last month and, besides a mishap by the checkin crew at Munich (a contractor, they lost the passenger list and had to check everyone in manually, delaying the flight by almost three hours -I thought I was going to miss my connection to Boston, but the airline staff at Dublin were great and made sure everyone got their connections, and quickly), I thought the service was perfectly fine to very good. The planes were clean, the crews universally friendly, and everyone (even the frontline contract employees whose colleagues screwed up the passenger list and had to get grief form some of the delayed passengers) was very capable. One thing I really liked was the dessert on the BOS-DUB flight was probably the best chocolate mousse I have ever had. I was hoping the same would be served on the DUB-BOS flight, but no dice.

@@michaelfeeney8437 Ireland's position at the western edge of Europe makes it a very good place to fly through from North America. Also, US border preclearance basically makes all flights from Dublin and Shannon to the United States domestic US flights, making it an attractive option for the airline and passengers, as they can use the domestic terminals at the destination airports. Iceland enjoys a similar position, but without the advantage of US preclearance.

It may not seem that big of a deal but as a tall person (i think Alex is the only youtube flight reviewer taller than i am) that is really all i care about. How much legroom do euro carriers have. This helps me narrow my airlines to search. I am simple basic minded (although i never buy basic economy. Usually delta main cabin or every airlines equivalent). I do not care if they serve food, drink or if the have IFE, nothing like that. Only 2 things i care about when i fly. The legroom and is the crew professional, nice and poliet.

Substantial veggie meal! Love it. And the standard meal... Doesn't bode well to present with the cover... Like it's a reheated frozen meal

Nothing like a bit of the Irish language in the morning! My favourite thing about flying Aer Lingus is the Gaeilge greeting as you land in Dublin (and pre clearance, obvs) 🇮🇪

Man i wish Aer Lingus would come to Billund. But Hamburg Is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from my doorstep. I prefer Hamburg to Copenhagen due to the toll bridge. But the 2 hours save at pre-clearance I will consider It

Thanks for this. We'll be doing a family vacation in Ireland in September. Not sure if we'll fly Aer Lingus or United, as my home airport is Newark. As of now, Aer Lingus looks to be cheaper, but as seen here, that flight arrives in Dublin at 5:00 am. The United flights arrive later in the day.

Was there Premium Economy on this arrow body flight? Those long-haul flights you need the space and more to relax.

The Business Class seating looks very nice. i know that by me being a tall guy over 6'0", I know that I would go to Business Class on the narrow body crossing the Atlantic. But as you showed the cabin set up, as a second selection the first rows there in Economy Class look like they have the space for you to stretch legs! Again, I thank for sharing you flight.

Nice with you noticing Teterboro Airport is that other busy general aviation airport. The corporate jets look so nice fly there.

Now that was a very good landing, the catering seemed reasonable were wines and other a alcoholic drinks offered free of charge ? as would be the case with British Airways who are also part of the IAG group.

You should see CLE airport. Dark, crowded, no moving sidewalk. etc. They talk of redoing the whole thing for about 3+B $. An entire concourse is totally empty as United pulled its hub a few yrs. ago. The airport here mostly caters to the crowd going to FL & Vegas on Spirit, Allegiant or Frontier.
