I work at EWR and our dispatch office is out of C80 downstairs. Too bad there was nobody around at that time but it was good to see the all too familiar ramp with the fuel pit set so far out. The plane is a late 737-800NG which I believe was one of CO's first 737 to come without the "eyebrow" cockpit window, since at the time Boeing began eliminating them. Today as you know UA recently bought a motherload of 737MAXs so this aircraft may get replaced before we know it, which may explain why the IFE may be a bit out dated. Thank you for taking us along and hope to see more of your travels soon. It was fun to watch.

You were on one of those now old CO 737s that wasn't updated. Now UA is saying their retrofits are going to happen in a quick pace in 2023 with 175 done by the end of the year and a lot of new deliveries. We'll see how that goes.

Did 1A have more leg room than other first class rows?

It has less leg room

Sweet review, I'll be flying first on a 737-800 for the first time in a few months and I guess I see why the upgrade was so minimal compared to that on a 757-200, as the seats on the 757-200 can lay flat. Nice review!

You were lucky to be in 1st class. I flew one these on United from PHL to SFO last month and it was really cramped in economy.

Well it was economy. You got what you paid for on cheaper fare.

My thoughts exactly.

The reason why retrofits have not started is because Panasonic is having supply chain issues, so similar to Boeing, Panasonic cannot deliver IFEs fast enough. therefore, their output rate is similar to Boeing’s, they can only deliver fast enough to be ready for brand new MAXes
