Thank you for the wonderful trip down memory lane. Your video quality was very steady and clear and very well presented. I worked at Wales factory 1972-1975 before being promoted and transferred to Skeldon. I never ventured past the Community Centre at Patentia and your video educated me on the names of the villages on West Bank most of which I had heard but could not locate. Heartbreaking to see the state of disrepair of the Staff compound and cannot even begin to imagine the plight of the local residents. My in-laws are from LaRetraite but I have not been back since 1979 and so could not recognize the area. Thanks again and keep up the good work much appreciated.

Another location I haven't visited before. Shame about the estate no longer in use- wonder if they can repurpose it for something else? And all those nicely built houses just abandoned, sorry sight. Perhaps with all the developments going on, the land can be utilized for something useful. Thanks for another informative trip, keep safe Bro. And a big thank you to the wifey for all the driving she does while you film!

Another nice one bro, nice family. Love your knowledge & the way you Explain everything. Some people just like to make videos of themselves and what they Can afford to eat & drink, trying to compete with people abroad, they don't think of the less well off people in Guyana. Keep doing your thing bro.❤🇬🇾🇬🇧

1st : Thanks for the ride. I remember those days going down to wales. ( i worked for Guysuco HO) That roadside market used to be buzzing on fridays when the factory paid its workers. Walking thru the market was like walking the gauntlet, with the many vendors spread out, closing the road, trying to entice you to "push you hand in yu pocket" and buy. High heels shoes and crimpaline pants lenght to make yu bell bottom pants Bai. Not to mention the rum shops, turning up d music to get yu fo com in. But dem man wife wid a piece of stick in them hand, does be keeping a close eye pon dem. ...mekkin sure they pass straight. Heh heh...friend, yu know right !!. Then there was "Prince of Wales Bai...!! Yu cant go pass deh if Dev Ananad movie playing bai. With the factory closed, the area is definitely depressed. Good to see. Thanks again. Looking forward to Parfaite Harmone and Tushen. Cheers bro.

Ravi, I am sure you can cross with more tonnage if you follow the not so secret procedure!! You have ten regions now! Back in the day, it was just 3 counties and villages in between. Have a great day family. You did some videos going into the interior. Have you ever went to the mountains. I think it’s the pakarima and rorima or something like that.

This road was built by LFS Burnham Guyana's first president , who was totally misunderstood by his people. The road is almost same as when he build it over forty years ago, his legacy lives on. Just some history for your younger viewers. But it's time now to transform this road into a three or possibly a four lane highway. Big up!
@nom52053 жыл бұрын
correct yuself banna !!...Guyana's first President was NOT LFS but Mr Arthur Chung. ( the National Assembly elected Chung as the country's first President; he took office on 17 March 1970. Ten years later, a constitutional revision transformed the presidency into an executive position, and Burnham succeeded Chung as President on 6 October 1980.)
@ianbynoe65153 жыл бұрын
@@nom5205 , you are correct. Burnham was the first executive president. Chung was the first ceremonial president replacing the the Queen as head of state. He was chosen by Burnham but he had no power as head of state . All powers were vested in prime minister Forbes Burnham.
@majie10183 жыл бұрын
Burnham, was misunderstood! Hehehe. If he was still alive, you probably would not be able to watch this video and post a comment because Guyana would still be in the Stone Age. He was the man that said eat what you produce, tighten your belt and produce or perish. He was the worst thing that happen to Guyana. Especially for some of its people.
@ianbynoe65153 жыл бұрын
@@majie1018, and he was right. The cost of living now in Guyana is through the roof. The ppp is importing everything. We are going to end up just like Venezuela. Nothing is wrong with Guyanese products. They are more healthy than foreign imports.
@ianbynoe65153 жыл бұрын
@@majie1018 , Jagan promised you all burnt brick roads when he was premier in the 1960s , Burnham came and gave you all asphaltic roads that lasted for decades. Shame on you for disparaging a great leader.
