Good representation, practically possible but in India we are used to forward feed. Excellent explanation, simple & clear step by step demonstration.

Hi, may I know what is the best way to simulate the backward feed multiple effect evaporator by using Aspen HYSYS? Is it by using the separator or the absorber column with reboiler?

Hello. I am designing multiple effect evaporator. How do I know at what pressure should the first effect operate at? Should i operate the pressure at the boiling temperature of the feed?

Atikah Othman the boiling point of a solution is dependent on the pressure and vice versa. so u should operate the first effect at a pressure with a corresponding boiling temperature which is lower than the input steam.

how does pressure affects the performance of evaporator. i have a system where second effect pump pressure is lesser than third effect. does it have any significance.

When we go from 1 evaporator to 2 and 3 what changes in volume of evaporator and why?
