Because they are aiming to match the theme of SNME, which is as HHH said, is retro. You cant say that that theme is the same with the other PLEs WWE have.

Because if you even look at a Winged Eagle a piece breaks off. That might have been fine on standard definition television but it won't fly (pun not intended) in 4k.

While it's the best title belt aesthetically, it's the worst from an engineering standpoint. I dare anyone who wants to bring the Winged Eagle back to find one that was used on TV that isn't damaged. There were far too many bits that could just snap off.
