When a wrestler is a heel, you’re supposed to hate them. If they’re good at it, they will make you hate them. However, there are some wrestlers that are sooo good at what they do, you love them heel or babyface. Triple H was always one of my favorites regardless. There are also guys that you hate even when they are a babyface. Matt Riddle is one of those for me. I can’t stand that guy.

@@leet.489 I wasn’t watching NXT back when he was there so I haven’t seen that but, I just don’t like the guy OR the character. Some guys get bad characters even though they seem to be good guys. I like Karrion Cross but his character needs tweaking and he desperately needs a new finisher. Barron Corbin is a guy I’ve liked since day one but his new character sucks and he’s been floundering for quite some time. He’s been a good heel from the beginning but I think maybe a face turn would help him gain some traction. The Miz is another character that has been a great heel and not so good as a face but, he’s a likable guy if you ever saw an episode of his show with his wife. Riddle just makes my skin crawl.

That’s like saying that a Governor can make the laws of a city to his will even if there’s a major. Sure, Governors (and Vince) have tremendous influence. But are they in charge of everything in the city (Creative)? No. The major (Triple H) is in charge of creative (the city), not Vince McMahon (the governor). Makes sense? It’ll still be like that after the merger. Also there ain’t no way Vince’ll take advantage of his own son-in-law, his family, for his personal power gain.

HHH is very good at business and working relationships. He probably did feel genuine happiness for Cody winning, but I think he also realized that Cody was someone worth having a friendly workable relationship with since he was likely to become more and more of a star. Even critics of HHH have to admit, the guy has a good eye for who is going to be a rising star and loved by the crowd. After all, he scouted and picked the Clique out early and made himself pretty indispensable to them (being a full time designated drive basically). Now he took those skills and talents he honed and is using them more professionally and on a grander scale. And with his experience in the locker room and with business, he's actually a really good pick for the job.

My thoughts exactly: I love HHH nowadays, but he did have an ego to him back at the height of the Reign of Terror, and he’s probably changed a lot as a person as he’s aged. Everyone should get the chance to do that, regardless of the person they used to be (Shawn Michaels is another good example)

One of the biggest differences between Hunter and Vince is that Hunter is an actual wrestling fan and that is why he got in the ring in the first place. Vince got into the business because his dad was a promoter (and importantly only a promoter) to Vince it is business and business can become very stagnant once you have the market cap that WWE has had for decades.

I'm with OP. At some point people talked so highly of HHH but that's mainly because of NXT and his business side. As a wrestler ouch he was awful. He's remembered mainly for working with the top guys like DX, Evolution, Stone Cold, and so on. He's a better businessman than a wrestler. I remember hearing he didn't want to put over Kurt Angle because he said Angle was too small.... He was mediocre at best
