In 1968 BSA released the triple fast BSA Rocket 3 on this world. An amazing motorcycle of its time. Not just a mechanical medley of madness but good looking too. Wahoo! Baxtercycle.com

Wanted one of these back in '72 but had to settle for a CB450 due to limited $ $

Man, that is a beautiful bike. Art, indeed! BTW, I like the "WAHOO! SiHRTS" note at the end.

Seeing one of these always brings Dave Taylor to mind, yes it's heavy, (compared to the Twins I guess) but used to travel quite nicely on it's back wheel for him..

I have had Honda CB450s and still do, and have a Triumph T160 which is the final iteration of the BSA and Triumph triples 1968-75. All great bikes but the Hondas are very reliable, the triples usually not, but they of course have several other advantages.

I've heard a lot of interesting stories about the triples. Some about speed but most about tuning or the need of. Always love a good Honda. Wahoo!

The rocket three in Trident handle way better than the CB 750 and they were faster than the CB 750. The thing was they couldn’t dissipate well enough and their cylinders go oval when they get heated so you burn up your oil and you gouge the cylinders And they weren’t anywhere near as reliable as CB 750. I’ve owned a couple CB 750s and Iona T1 60 Trident, which is really only slower because they restricted it a bit because of the crisis but that’s easily changed to get the full power out of it. There is a cylinder and swap that is supposed to dissipate the heat better I believe it’s from cycle. I’d love to get one from my old girl but the cost of doing all that is way more than I can afford right now. But on both bikes, the 160 is superior, it’s just a pain in the ass but it’s such an amazing bike to ride and the rocket to me is the most beautiful bike ever made after the Vincent Black shadow.

I do love the Trident looks, the bike has style. Hoping we can ride one when the weather warms up. Thanks for the info. Wahoo!
